I try to reverse park, but other drivers don't half whinge when I push the shopping trolley down their cars. And as to loading the 2 x 4's you should see their faces when I have to rest them across their bonnet to get then in the back.

I'd never hit another car and leave no details, but in larger cars where there's a lot more momentum and better sound deadening, I can imagine it's possible to not realise you've hit something.

Some old biddy was collected by myself in March this year on a roundabout (non fault, she broke basically every rule of using roundabouts!) and her Ford KA was a write off and I barely felt the impact - big cars do really numb your perceptions of the outside world.

Your senses must be out of this world if you can tell the difference between not touching a vehicle and taking a 0.01mm of paint off a bumper. That sort of impact would not even register on a person's senses

I've heard of drivers being prosecuted for hit and runs in car parks where there wasn't any damage caused to an innocent party's vehicle.

Anyone who can't tell the difference between not touching a vehicle and touching a vehicle really shouldn't be driving.

What if a driving test candidate happened to lightly scrape the bumper of another vehicle in the test centre? Do you seriously think they'd pass the test?

Hit and run with no damage isn't a collision so there is nothing to prosecute.

It was probably this member here coinxoperated she thinks it's ok to behave like that...
Next time, get in your car and walk away! Everyone expects to get some little scratches or bumps - its the MSE board, if it ain't broke, don't break it further! lesson learnt!

For whats its worth i move cars about all day most days and i can assure you it is very easy to touch another object remove paint off your bumper and not know you have done it.
Remember also this car that caused the damage was probably revving higher than normal because it was on its start cycle, add in power steering and large bumpers and drivers most likely wont be aware they have touched.

Security wont give out cctv because they wont be allowed to,i only let emergancy services see my tapes when they can be bothered to turn up musually days after the event .

To op as said you have paint on your bumper from other car so its highly likely a t cut will indeed remove all marks.
An independent bodyshop would probably do it as you asked their advise seeing as it takes 2 minutes for the priceof a pack of tetley teabags and a nice smile

dont get bitter and twisted over this its not worth it:)

How do you know damage hasn't been caused underneath the fascia of the bumper?

Therefore, how can you be certain that there is no need to stop and report?
