The only way is up for Energy prices. Best to manage it and stop using as much of it.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

If OP is talking about electric, i know what button he is talking about. the way my "boiler" works, is that it does off peak water heating so that its cheaper as i'm on an E7 meter. the boost button is so that if you ever run out of hot water (pretty much one run of washing and 2 showers would deplete mine) then you can switch it on and it'd be able to give you hot water within 45mins.
obviously this would be used during the day and the rates are higher. and i think the water is heated as soon as you use water (so it keeps topping up). i can see how he could easily rack up the £500 bill from this.
as advised by the guys above, payment plan is your only option....0 -
My in-laws water heater timer has a OFF-TIMED-ON switch and a BOOST button which gives a 1hr boost when on timed. It can be set to permanently on and we all know what that costs !0

How many kWh's of energy does a hot water cylinder use? Mine only uses 4kWh per day and I have plenty of hot water.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
