Morning all (((hugs))) forever saving hope it is hibernation.
Me and oh moved everything but a few odd little bits to our new flat yesterday and I could have killed him! Just because I can be a bit ditzy he acts like I'm thick as pig shot and was dictating awful ways for me to pack and organise things that would have ended up with all our stuff leaking or broken and got in a huff when I did it differently! New member of the heavy hande o h club! I love the flat and whilst our fridge is huge our freezer is tiny, it's going to have to be very carefully and selectively packed :(

    hi all

Back again....Tappers IYWYM am currently in meltdown about bedroom. Hasn't helped that I have been awake since 5am. We have now stripped the walls. The wardrobe has been emptied and mine and OH's clothes are all in the sitting room. I'm too tired to put them away atm.

I would like the ceiling and walls skimmed but we have the cupboard. OH made it years ago to house the hot water tank. It now contains new water boiler thingy that doesn't have a tank. So.....do we plaster around it bearing in mind it's a bit makeshift but the heating controls are fixed to it? Get a new cupboard built at enormous expense and then plaster around it? Just paint the textured (arrgh) ceiling and paper the walls or leave home?

    Answers on a postcard please...........

Penny - at the back of the fridge there are little drains (holes) that let the water filter back into the system. They may be blocked by debris or ice so first thing would be too see if that is the case.

Forever - sorry about your pet snake xx

Still reading and with you in spirit xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Got a sudden burst of enthusiasm and decided to clear up, reorganise and tidy our bedroom.

Moved small bookcase to behind the door, which gave me room to put ottoman for bedding in its place, once I had moved bedside table and shifted super king sized bed nearer door by a few inches.

By the time a caster fell off and bed hardly shifted - began to think maybe not such a good idea. Eventually moved everything, sorted books etc, dusted, polished and hoovered and stripped bed and felt like a wet rag.

Youngest then called upstairs to say she was starving so asked DH what he fancied for lunch. He took one look at me and offered to drive for fish and chips so DDs got treated to fish and chips for lunch and we had some too. Dishwasher is loaded and bedding is in washing machine.

Still have to finish bedroom but feel have accomplished something (just hope DH does not notice I moved the bed as I will get "the talk" on doing too much etc.) :o

Having a browse on here before mustering energy to finish tidying etc and making a chicken lasagne for tea.

Think my "get up and go" just got up and went.

    Hug and wave to all

    Hi all,

a bit late in the day for me to be posting but ive only just switched my pc on.

Loved the concert last night (pity some of the star performers couldnt sing) but i still enjoyed it.

Watched the ceremony at St Pauls this morning too. The Queen looked lost without Prince Philip.... or thats what i thought.

Havent done anything with this extended weekend but ive organized things in the garden and hubby has done the hard work (like chopping one of the conifer trees down) and theres loads to be taken to the council disposal point at some point. The garden looks back to its former glory if not better. We have been to B&Q and bought a couple of bits. I needed a stepping stone as i dont like standing on the grass when i peg my washing on the rotary line. I needed a new watering can too.

Ive just been down the garden to rescue the washing as its started to rain and i suppose i had ought to get on with preparing our evening meal.

    Have a good evening all.

Hi Chums well I got a line of washing done and dried this morning on the line (good job I brought it in mid afternoon as it threw it down by 5.00
Spent most of the afternoon running junk to the tip with DGS Ben for DD as we were having a decluttering day at her house.Exhausted but three huge car loads later she now has a bit more room in her house.(I have a big Zafira so my boot almost turns into a small van when the seats are down)
By 4,30 it was done though and I decided right off the top of my head to take DD, her OH and the four boys out for a nice meal as the weather was so awful We went to Rochester to 'Simply italian' and had a good feed which made us all feel better after the hard work of the day.The tribe don't often get to eat out so I thought a treat was in order as my DD has been feeling a bit down this week-end(she miss-carried the baby in between Henry and Mikey, and June is never a good month for her even though it was 9 years ago she still remembers her little lost boy.
Well when we got to Rochester and parked up we had about a five minute walk to the restraunt.Boy did we get wet, it seemed like the heavens had opend. But we had a nice meal and the boys were so good trying different things. The two youngest have decided they like parmesan cheese, and the eldest boy isn't too keen on jalopenos but they loved the profiteroles and toffee ice cream.
Tomorrow I have the boys for the day as DD and her OH are back at work,so we are going to make waffles,I thought I might try some cheesy ones for a change for lunch.
Now I'm off to bed as my feet are telling me its time to be elevated
I hope everyone has had a great long week-end,I certainly have
Good night, God Bless all here

Evening all...or is it Night all??

Been a rotten, rainy, cold day here, not aided by being up at 6 to bring DD2 and girls to ferry port....she prefers boat to flying as girls are easier to amuse...came home, read paper and went back to bed for a couple of hours...not been feeling the best for the last week so going to quack (doctor) in the morning, he only sits until 9am so will have another early day.

Seem to be getting nowhere with blanket I am knitting to take to DD3 in Oz, must get on as only 5 weeks until lift off and millions of other things to do.

FS...sorry to hear of lost pet....I have lost my border collie and cat in last month, so know how it feels.

OH cooked dinner to-day, we had steak, potatoes and mixed stir fried veg....he used to hate peppers, but they are now one of his favourite things to eat, so they are always on menu when he cooks.

Trying to get rid of as much carp as possible, the house seems full of it...if I can get it done before holidays I think that I will research the possibility of getting a cleaner when I come back, finding it harder to bend these days, not sure I can afford one, but that would be part of research.

Hugs to all, stay safe and warm

    Marie
