Hi Folks
Hopefully you can help with this one.
I've purchased tickets for a Paul Simon concert in July but have now had notice that I'm having an operation a couple of days before so will be unable to attend.
Would I be able to claim a refund on my Mastercard or is this type of thing not covered?
I've tried selling the tickets or giving to friends but nobody is able to take them.
Hopefully you can help with this one.

You wouldnt be able to get a refund via your cc.
Section 75 wouldnt cover this, the company have done nothing wrong.
Your only chance of off loading them is selling them on.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I wouldn't have thought so. Try one of the online ticket places.DEBT FREE AND PROUD'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt'0

It's not the retailer or the card company's faulty you can't attend so unless you have one of the few cards offering some form of insurance, no chance I'm afraid. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

Have you tried contacting the ticket vendor you used to buy them and ask to cancel the order and get a refund?Optimists see a glass half full
Pessimists see a glass half empty
Engineers just see a glass twice the size it needed to be0 -
They won't refund your money. Do as a previous poster said, sell them on seatwave. It's easy, hassle free and guaranteed to be secure.0

Can the operation be re-scheduled for a more convenient time? I suppose not because it's the NH"S".
If private, perhaps you can change the operation date?0 -

So it depends on how desperate you are to have it done.
Not being able to visit a concert a few days after an operation suggests its not a small operation.0 -

People constantly moan about the NHS - but rearranging operations to suit your concert schedule is one thing I am very glad the NHS don't do...
Though I think the idea of cancelling a major medical procedure so you can go to a concert is ludicrous anyway!0 -
Credit card protection covers problems with products themselves, rather than problems with the person who bought the product
In the first instance, try contacting the ticket issuer and explain the situation, requesting a refund. If no satisfactory response/resolution a week or so before the concert, sling the ticket(s) on eBay, or any of the many other ticket resale sites. It's relatively easy to offload concert tickets, and there are loads of ways to do it.0
