You might be as well going to the Crucial website and running their scan. It will tell you what's currently installed and how many slots are free. They will also give you a price but you don't have to buy from them.
You can also buy from them if you like - they are reputable and have been around for years.
(Alternatively you can be a cheapskate like me and wait for the one you want to come up on ebay at a good price.)0 -
Unless you are running a 64 bit version of Windows, then the OS will not recognise more than 3.5GB of RAM anyway.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The amount of the 4 GB you will see can vary from one machine to the next.
The worst I have seen is my work Lenovo laptop which has 4 GB, but can only use 2.5 GB!0
