Already installed Rightmove, any others worth downloading?!

There's a finaproperty app - this was useful around my search area, where a number of agents are listed with findaproperty but not rightmove.

    findaproperty and primelocation.

If you're searching in Scotland, there's a couple of Scots-specific ones that I can point you at.

For me, rightmove was the best by a country mile, the rest were useless in comparison.

The only decent app is Rightmove, Zoopla and Onthemarket are weak.

The most important thing is using the app correctly, and this is something that MSE should write an article about.

    The most important things are:

    1. Make sure you set your price limit above what you can afford. Houses don't always sell for asking price. If you have a budget of 250k, set your max limit to 300k

    2. Don't set a number of bedrooms. Houses are often listed incorrectly.

    3. Don't specify type (semi/detached etc). Houses are often listed incorrectly.

    4. Search a wide area such as "Berkshire" or "Surrey". Don't search for a specific town or village, houses are often listed incorrectly.

And the absolute most important thing you can do is:

    5. Order search results by "recently added" and check multiple times a day. Even in a wide-area such as Berkshire you'll only see around 50 houses per day during busy periods.

Make sure you're the first to spot the house, and the first to call the EA.

Of course, make sure you're registered with all EAs and be super cooperative. Let them know you'd consider using their recommended services (even if you don't plan to) so that they call you before the property is even listed.
