We bought one, seller bought the tax on the last day in April for us, - from the start of April, not the start of May! Luckily it was only £2.50 lost.0

If you purchased a car on 30th May and paid for 6 months road tax do you think the tax would run out at the end of October?
Yep- May
- June
- July
- August
- September
- October
If you had waiting until the 1st June, it would have run out at the end of November.Quidco Earnings (since Dec 06): £467.750 -

If you tax a used vehicle within two working days of the month-end, you can have it start from 1st of the following month, not the month which is just about to end.
If the car was taxed on the day of purchase, the license should have been requested to run from 1 June.
What was the status of the vehicle before May 30? Taxed? Sorned?I am a mortgage broker. But on a technicality, the tax doesn't start until the 1 June, so the dealer can't let you drive home on the 31st May.0 -
