keep getting links to gambling sites??

Is anyone else getting this?
When I click on a thread, or even on the 'new thread' button I get another page pop up, with some dodgy-looking gambling site, or something similar. It's happened about 4 times just now, and has happened countless times over the past day or two.
The sites which i keep getting are:
primeslots.com
localdealspanel.com
primescratchcards.com
surveygroupintl.com
I'm puzzled if it's something I'm doing or if there's something new on the site which is causing it to do this? It's a real pain!

Nope, try running a virus scan.Interests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)0

And repost in the techie stuff section of this website. It's probably a trojan of some sort redirecting you. May not be a virus so there will be some other things that you need to run that the techies can help you with.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

ah, thankyou. seems like the problem's at my end, then0

You need to run Malwarebytes anti-malware on your PC!0

I've since found that it happens when I'm using FireFox but not when I'm using Internet Explorer. AVG didn't detect any viruses, but I may not have the latest version. I've now uninstalled FF in case it's something that's worked its way into the browser.0

Another thing worth checking is -:
Have a look in your router at the settings, i.e. the DNS server settings, the reason I mention this is because about 12 months ago I had a similar problem to yours, some sites would not load and I got directed to ones I had not requested, eventually I found that the DNS settings in my router had been changed to ones from Russia!
Now I am very aware of viruses and malware and take all possible precautions with anti virus, firewall on the PC and in the router and anti spyware and I have no idea how they got changed, it was not from an email so I could only assume it was from a website, possibly one of the file-sharing ones I visit!0 -
A couple of things to look out for.
* Your browser settings could have been modified to send your traffic
through a local proxy on your machine. The local proxy is actually the virus.
* Your Firefox profile has been compromised. In which case if you reinstall Firefox and find you still have your bookmarks etc... you're using the same profile so you will still have the same problem.
Generally speaking if an automated tool such as Malwarebytes can fix the problem that's preferable to trying to fix it manually. Please may I recommend our our free anti-virus software guide

Thanks all. I will try and get hold of this Malwarebytes tool. I suspect it's something dodgy which is specific to Firefox. I am using I.E. still, and have not reinstalled FF.
I am using mobile broadband (dongle) at the moment, which doesn't have a router, so that kind of rules out a problem with the router settings, but we are hoping to get 'proper' broadband soon.0 -

It could also have been the DNS settings in Firefox probably easier for a hacker to change those than the ones in a router, might also explain why it does not occur in IE.
You can get antimalwarebytes here http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Make sure you download the free version.0
