Ebay buyers - what a pain they can be

In fairness it never occurred to me until I started using this board, and I have been on eBay a good few years now. I think scammy type things don't occur to most (honest) people, until you hear a few stories and it makes you more wary.
You can't prove you sent the item if they pay with Paypal then collect the item for you, because you will not have proof of postage. They can open an Item Not Received Case, and you won't have a leg to stand on. They will get their money back and have your item as well. If they are scammers, that is.
I too hadn't heard of it and used to get paypal for collections - and Taadaa - I think you're exactly right - most honest people are utterly shocked when something scummy happens - because we aren't spending time working out how to 'do' people over in one form or another!
Now I ask for cash on collection - had one bloke turn up with none though and he 'paypalled' me on the doorstep on his phone and then had to get me to refund the postage because he's paid that too!
I do try to be a bit more savvy now though:cool:
Mind you I did tell my ex he'd taken a risk when he sold a set of alloy wheels so it was a 'high' value sale - and had them pay by paypal even though they were collecting.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
