It would seem that you can reheat fish & chip shops fairly well in the oven. Might sound a bit gross to reheat chips but we had two unopened portions from last night and they made lovely chip butties for lunch!jumblejack wrote: »We have done that before now!! I reckon they taste better rewarmed too! Especially when you open up a can of Tesco value mushy peas to go on em which are currently 6p:j:T
I love reheated chip shop chips, love the crusty crunchy bits - its like a different meal, soggy when fresh and crunchy when reheated......both very tasty!

Updated signature to include 12.00 spend, my lovely daughter took me to Lidl and HB on Friday. Discovered Chinese Chicken thighs in Lidl, Oh My they are gorgeous, and such good value, 7 nice fat thighs, so seven meals for 2.99 and their frozen summer berries are only 1.99 for 750 grams, usually get Mr A 500gs 2.00. so 250g extra and saved a 1p.
Am loving my new low calorie meal plan, I have lost 5lbs, Have subsituted light Philly for butter on baked potato and yogurt for mayo on salads.
But missing my HM bread and scones, I have to get my willpower under control before I attempt them, maybe in a couple more weeks I will introduce as a treat.Slimming World at target0 -

Been MIA just lately but still in the grocery challange on £10 per week, I know it doesnt sound much and I have been following it for well over a month now but I have such a lot in my cupboards and freezer!!! I reckon it was food spending not clothes spending for me:(
Anyway onwards and upwards, having a canelloni bean casserole for tea followed by strawberries (out of the garden) and icecream:)
I manage about 5 NSD's a week, and then its mainly fresh veg fruit and milk, so it helps me getting my OD down a bit

Ickle, I could easily do 4pts in a day... Think I'm addicted, just drank a pint now!!
That is great value, but we've only got a JS and Mr T in my city, I'd have to drive next town over for L!dl, not even sure about A!di close by, then I think travelling cancels out saving...
Maybe I should try and cut down a bit, but I think you hit that point where you get fed up with cutting down, I don't drink alc, I don't smoke, I don't wear any make up... I am always on a diet...I want an indulgence!!

Well done on your weight loss - i started my diet again, i really miss bread but am having ryvita. I love my salad dressings and can highly recommend tesco lighter than light mayonnaise, which is only 14 calories per tablespoon and low fat and Kraft light italian dressing is extremely low too. Good luck with it.0 -
£4.50 spent on 2 pots of tea and a carton of juice when we went to our local NT place yesterday. It was a lot warmer than I expected and we got quite warm when walking around. Must be better prepared next time. At least I managed to resist the GF cakes!
Also spent £3.50 on a cup for DS as he had been so good and DH wanted to get him a treat. I am doing a chuck it all in budget this month so am including this spend.
I had a marathon cooking session yesterday. Finally cooked the GF cheese and olive scones which are scrumptious, a GF chocolate sponge and a large apple and rhubarb crumble we were too stuffed to eat after our sunday dinner. I will give it to for lunch and have some for pud as I am determind not to waste anything this week.
DH has 2 prescriptons to fill tonight which will be added to my total as well later tonight when he has picked them up.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

I really like rivita too, the mayo and italian dressing sound good, but how do they come out costwise? I find that sometimes these things are quite expensive and really want to keep my costs down.
Good luck to you too.Slimming World at target0 -
Afternoon, everyone. I can feel the pounds slipping away from me this month
Just done my main shop for the week at Mr T and Mr M and have spent £40.13, taking my total so far this month to £102.19. I'm not sure I can manage another couple of weeks at this rate.
I'm off to update my sig. Tea tonight is a small rack of pork ribs with a bourbon Chinese BBQ marinade, and some sauteed potatoes. Last night we had a total change to the mealplan and had a v small chicken breast each, wrapped in bacon with a nugget of cheese tucked in. It was very good - both of us ate very quickly as it was so tasty! Chips 2 days in a row but I'm past caring today
