It is, within months I have went from not believing mental health issues were real (never had a sick day in 13 years) to not being able to leave the house alone.
I found MSE though and I am getting stronger by the day. I found out about cutting bills, food costs and YS
The people on the messy thread are a great support as well :j
The worst health issues are those unseen
What is the messy thread? Sounds kinda fun:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I have just been to Asd@, there were two packs of strawberries reduced from £2.50 to £1. There were no yellow stickers on the packs just a sign up to say reduced to £1. Lots of people were buying them.
Anyway when you got to the check outs there was a right commotion going on. The strawberries scanned and then the cashiers were instructed to enter a price, some knew it was £1 others put in the price it said on the label £2.50.
The department assistant kept getting called to the tills as the customer argued they should be £1.
Others took them selves off to the customer services desk to get a refund and a card for being overcharged.
The assistant argued that she had not got time to put stickers on them all.
Is it me or would it have not been quicker to put the stickers on, rather than spend all her time at the tills with irate customers?
Anyway they are lovely strawberries. But what a performance.0 -
Be careful Adelight and be safe
I don't know your personal circumstances but it's definitely best to avoid a conflict if someone has had a drink.
Hope things improve tomorrow when you've both had a bit of time:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Rising from the Ashes - i have to agree, give it away, its a sin the amount of food that is thrown
Soworried - sorry to hear of your situation. . I dont think rising was having a dig, but when browsing the ys section, some people are so RUDE. Elbows, trolly block (i think its called), agressive. I always move over and let other people browse. I would prefer to stave than behave like a savage. By the way, Tesco do value pasta for 30p, which i find fine
Just to add to my long boring post, i do feel that people would benefit being taught to budget. I used to earn lots of money (pre kids), but did not have a clue about saving or budgeting, I am now unemployed (unfortunately), single, with 2 children (19 year twins) and i feel more in control with things 'cause i can manage my purse. i can exist well on a shoestring, if needed could probably feed an army for a year on the supplies we have, I think good came out of my lack of money, if you know what i mean. I do think its something that should be taught in schools0 -
Hi everyone,
Good to see people back from their travels. Sounds like some people are going through a rough time, hugs to all those that need them.
Save dosh I agree with you. I think budgeting, saving etc needs to start as a child by parents and in schools. To be fair I've been looking after myself since I was 17, but some of my friends just have no clue with money. Not that I'm that great, but the way they waste money etc is madness. Saying OH lived with his dad and was also wasteful with his money and had £20000 of debt when I met him. All thankfully paid off now! He had nothing to show for it though!
I'm expecting our first baby in September so am thinking already of how I will teach him the value of money and saving (I'm not great at saving)
I just was thinking about a couple of things so thought I'd come on ask them then hopefully I can sleep.
Cat food now I know I'm soppy, but does anyone make their own cat food? We got our cat from a rescue centre in Jan and she's three. we've not spoiled her with any gourmet cat food, but it seems she doesn't like any. We've friend jelly ones, gravy ones, lots of brands (MrT, MrM, fel!x, k!tekat and whisk*rs), pouches and sachets. She might eat them for a day or two then little. We give her biscuits which she eats. She loves ham, chicken and human food and I'm soft so will give her bits if I'm cooking or eating them so she does/can eat so it's not that she's unwell. This has been going of or months now, my main bugbear is just the amount of food we are wasting. We've started giving her smaller amounts too, but still a lot is being wasted. So I was thinking if I could make cat food. I've seen a few recipes online and that some people say that it does work out cheaper. Obviously I need to make sure it's balanced for nutrition etc. Does anyone else do this or has done it?
Daft question 2. When counting your grocery shop total do you count any delivery charges? I was explaining to my friend the idea of the challenge etc and saying what I'd spent and she pointed out that with AF and MrS £10 this month was on delivery rather than actual groceries so really she thought it wasnt an accurate reflection. Her view was I don't add petrol to the cost if I drive there. I think that's it's of the cost of the shop, but i see her point. I suspect people will think about this differently so I just wondered really of any of you didn't count any delivery charges?
What were two little questions in my head turned into a mammoth post so I am sorry.
Hope everyone sleeps well and has a good weekend.

Busy day for me today:
Garden lovers gathering and a girls night out for a curry.
Am I the only one who dreads going out for a meal?
I just calculate how little I could have created the meal for:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I really feel for you, as I had a time where getting up was a challenge, and if I managed it then it was a good day.
Spend day today, but a lot of it was teachers' cards and presents, so I'll have to split the receipt up and work out how much for the gc. Got some milk, as I don't know if we'll end up getting to the shop this weekend now, and some pancakes for breakfast tomorrow. A$da have just started doing 'hm' pancakes with different flavourings, which you can watch them cook in store. I spent ages talking to the baker as he was doing it, and he said they were going like hotcakes, pardon the pun!!
Got two boys coming over for a sleepover tomorrow night - one each of my children's ages. Their dad is dropping them off, along with mcd's for each of the children, so I only need to feed myself tomorrow evening. Then I'm driving the four children to the pub for Sunday lunch, and meet back up with their parents. (They're going out on Sat night which is why I have the children!) This means that we'll only need a small tea on Sunday, so prob tom soup or similar as I'll have made some bread by then.
Had sausage rolls from the freezer with lo baked beans and lo mash, which I mixed with grated cheese and baked at the same time as the saus rolls. Children ate almost every bit, and that's a little bit more used up... I WILL get there!!

Good Morning Folks!
Well I went to Ald! On Thursday and picked up some of their pull- ups for DS at night. So far so goodthank you to those who recommended them. I also remembered someone saying about their version of Pantene shampoo so I got some of that too. I really enjoyed going somewhere different so will go more often.
Family party today so I have made a trifle. I am going to decorate the top with strawberries and blueberries so it looks like the union jack
Food banks - we donate weekly to our local food bank. There is a collection box in our church. DS and DD put the items in the box. hopefully helping others less fortunate will be second nature to them.GC Mar 11 £437.08Apr 11 £459.26 May 11 £485.52 June 11 £423.79July 11 £409.22 Aug 11 £250.10Sept 11 £396.14Oct 11 £382.37Nov 11 £372.55Dec 11 £332.29 Jan 12 £375.19:Feb 12 £349.58Mar 12 £279.66Apr 12 £249.12May 12 £337.66/Jun 12 £362.58/Jul 12 £317.03/Aug 12 £354.02/Sept £439.72/Oct 12 £210.160
