You're right, I've just gone to loo and come back thinking I'll delete the thread as there's better things to worry about! Ignore me, I'm not having a great morning!

Can anyone tell me how get rid of a thread?
A good idea would be to text SIL and apologise and say you were having a bad day. It might help ease tensions

The OP has realised she maybe went a little OTT.

I think some days we are more sensitive than others, but men are notorious for forgetting cards and gifts even their own immediate family members.

edit/delete your first post and email the link to the forum team asking for the thread to be deleted ;) Not sure if they're around over the bank holiday weekend, though?

I'm notorious with my family for forgetting nieces', nephews' and BIL's birthdays. They have to remind me in good time if I don't remember of my own accord. Doesn't mean I don't love them, just that the dates aren't imprinted on my mind, like other important ones.

It's perfectly understandable to be disappointed on your child's behalf. However, your role as a parent is to help them deal with life's inevitable disappointments, so I just hope that your child doesn't know that you've taken up the cudgels on their behalf.
