No wonder families fall out over the silliest things, with vindictive people like you who actually take delight in being vindictive

Annoying? Yeah? Bit thoughtless? Yeah. But I wouldn't have bothered texting about it. You've probably just embarrassed them now. Sometimes people have major things going on in their lives that they dont care to share with you, and things get forgotten!

To make a sweeping statement here.. men are notoriously bad at getting cards for people. They just don't see buying and writing in a bit of paper/card as something important. It's a man/woman thing :rotfl:

Yes it is irritating, but not worth falling out over, in the grand scheme of things, if he has a good relationship with your kids for the other 364 days of the year.

Bit of an over reaction to be honest.

Its a man thing, my OH would never ever remember birthdays let alone send a card.

We only send them to Sisters/brothers/ son/daughter.

Vindictiveness isnt nice, If I innocently forgot to send a card and someone was vindictive to me they wouldnt get another one, ever. Why would I bother buying a card, buying a stamp, posting it to someone who had been vindictive to me. Dream on.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

You're right, I've just gone to loo and come back thinking I'll delete the thread as there's better things to worry about! Ignore me, I'm not having a great morning!

Can anyone tell me how get rid of a thread?

They're your kids, not his. They are his Nephew and Nieces, and ultimately it is down to them to decide to send cards (broke or not). Over the top, reactive, and WOW comes to mind.

Yes he could've probably gotten a cheapy card, but I wonder if the thread would then be my BIL (by marriage, not even by blood!) got my DS a cheapy birthday card. RAWR!

Not everyone wants to share their finances with their family. And quite possibly you've embarrassed him and his family about it.

As posted, this is silly things that start family feuds.

It was a card that didn't come, move on, get over it. I'm sure your DS would'nt be traumatised for life that he didn't get a card from his Uncle in law (again, marriage, not blood!)

    lol SERIOUSLY?????

i don't think my husband has bought a birthday card for his family in his life. If I am VERY lucky i get a valentines/ birthday/ christmas card- but i don't hold my breath.

I have family who have never seen my 1 year old son. To me no amount of birthday cards will make up for this. but I don't text them to beg them to see him.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

I forgot my nieces birthday this year. I really felt awful, even though she is too young to notice. She did get her gift a day late. I love her to bits but sometimes things happen and you are focused on major things and forget the little things. I certainly would not have appreciated a text from my sister along the lines you sent.
God help you if you ever slip up like the rest of us mere mortals.
edit - i just saw your post about having a bad day- so you ARE just like the rest of us:)
