Help with Talk Talk needed

I rang Talk Talk to find out why my payment had increased when I had been told a couple of weeks earlier that there would not be a price increase and was offered a further 12 months contract package, which I declined. I now find that according to Talk Talk records I am down for a further 12 month contract which I categorically declined and do not want. My current contract is set to finish in November 2012 and Talk Talk now say it will finish in June 2013. Has anyone got any ideas of how I deal with this? Thank you.

Write to them immediately, stating that you did not enter into a new contract and state what you understand your terms to be, particularly that you understand the end of your term to be November 2012 and that this is non negotiable. Keep a copy.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

I empathise with your problem - I joined when Talk Talk was carphone warehouse in december 2006, and was quite happy with their service, until after reading in MSE about phone/BB costs, I reviewed my bills -(I know, black mark from Martin for being so lax) I then realised my £20 per month had grown to £27. I had no details why, so phoned them on 1 December 2011 - and queried - and was told I had a legacy package 3BB, and as I hadn't been sent out a new contract, they would put a 30 day waive on my file - to waive any penalty termination charge. Well, I phoned 15/12 to enquire about cheaper packages, got an email 20/12 telling me what my legacy package gave me (!) . Phoned again and, well, very rude responses to my trying to clarify their new package costs... well, on 28th, after 2 more unsatisfactory calls, my third call I spoke to someone else, and after having him confirm twice I would not have termination charges, (as I had no contract), I told him I said I no longer required TT service. (emailing the same day to that effect) 3rd January - I get a letter, thanking me for extending my Talk Talk contract !!!!!!!!! Anyway, cutting the next part short - I get a bill for outstanding balance of contract. Several emails exchanged ** 17 April, final demand, more emails, 16 May - letter from Buchanan Clark & Wells Formal Demand (now £20 more than TT letter) then phone call, now 30 May .. BCW letter asking me to phone them... And, that's why I find myself on the forums - googling I found advice here on BCW - and also saw your post... ** All I can add is if you phone TT, record the call - I gave up on phone calls, they were so impolite and unclear, they also avoid you doing their 'customer satisfaction survey', by keeping the line open, so you get fed up for hanging on for it. I shall just trawl the CAB now for advice. Wishing you better luck than me0

Did you give the required 30 day notice when terminating? Your contract hadn't ended, your minimum term had ended-you are then on a rolling contract requiring 30 days notice. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Hi, just following from my last post - although I'd already sent details to customer services in an email, I sent a letter a couple of days ago to

[FONT="]all my dates of phoning, emailing, who I spoke to, responses, etc in date order. A lady from that office, called me today and in her second call has just told me, that it is all sorted out now, I don't owe them any fee, and the debt recovery agency will be told. phew! good luck
