Best dongle for 2 weeks use with an ipad

I have a friend coming from the USA for just over 2 weeks, she will also be staying with relatives who do not have any internet connection. I would like to be able to sort out a connection for her to use wherever she is. What would be the best thing to do for her - she needs to use Skype with it. I have just over a week to sort it out for her. She has an iPad so don't know if it even uses a dongle??

You can't plug a dongle into an iPad. If the iPad is a 3G version then you could get a PAYG SIM for it.

Far far easier for them to go to McDonald's or any other local free WiFi supplier and get their connectivity that way.

The ONLY dongle that you can use is a MiFi, as mentioned already, can't plug USB into an iPad. MiFi acts as a wireless hotspot.

Otherwise, you can use an Android Phone or iPhone with Tethering using a Pay as you Go SIM unless you have a spare one you can lend with inclusive Data .

any 'metered' 3g connection is likely to get some stick if intending to use much skype.. who's your broadband with? Bt & Sky provide wifi access that you could set it up for - e.g. BT Fon for residential users (if anyone nearby has it enabled).. or Mcd's / Cloud wi-fi approach with Sky..
