Got sky+, sky talk unlimited and bb. Moving country can I cancel in contract?

Lol no I'm not going to do a runner that's unfair for a few hundred quid! I will call them once I have a concrete date for moving and see if they will cancel it. If I pay it up surely the can't make we wait till march paying in dd! It makes better fiscal sense to have the cash in their account and just cut it off surely?

Fair enough and good for you.

However, I would urge you not contact Sky until they have advised whether they are going to increase their prices for TV, phone and BB. I understand this will happen before August 2012. If they do increase their prices, you will then have your 'get out of jail free card' to play with as you will then be able to cancel your contract without penalty and give them 30 days notice.

having worked for sky, we were always told that customers can never leave live BB and phone in an empty house and even if in contract - cancel it down and you don't have to get supervisor/manager ok to do it, the TV is a different matter - the only advice is downgrade and sit out the contract, remember to cancel 31 days before the date at the end of your contract, you can cancel by email!! Remember it's only the account holder that can cancel

But why bother if Sky decide to increase the cost of TV, phone and/or BB, which will then enable the OP to cancel his/her contract without penalty and give Sky 30 days notice ?

Looks like your 'get out of jail free card' has arrived as Sky have just announce that they will be increasing their prices from 1/9/12.

yay, where do i find that info please? i will have to watch the dates tho as i dont want to be cut off too soon but dont want to leave it too late, do i get 30 days from the date of the increase or from the date of notice that there will be an increase? whats the relevant law im quoting when i call? thanks guys you are saving me a fortune!

go to https://www.sky.com ( better yet get a friend to introduce you then you get £50 M&S vouchers and so do they) i have unlimited calls ( hubby is in canada and i can call him on monile or landline there free) unlimited broadband and entertainment one and two package. i dont watch sports and ditn chose movies because blockbuster is doing a 2 week free trial at the moment so i just got movies from them, then will try love film with cashback, then netflix etc so wont be short of films to watch and dont need to pay out £16 a month. current offer is £100 M&S voucher if you sign up online. i love sky and the BB and phone have been great - was just dreading telling them im leaving half way thru my contract!
