I've not really got the energy to carry on with the bathroom

Famous last words... I started in the corner of the dining room and - within 5 minutes - was taking a door off and dragged it outside. After almost 3 hours there's a difference, provided I only look at the bits of the room I've done. :o

DS1 has helped a bit and will work on bathroom/DS2's room tomorrow, so I can carry on with the DR.

    Monday - kitchen
    Sweep and mop the floor
    Wipe your worktops
    Clear hotspot
    Wipe cupboard/drawer fronts
    Sort out a cupboard
HHC outside (while the weather seems reasonable)
Bank Holiday Tuesday - Master Bedroom (leaving this for Friday/the weekend)
    Hoover floor and landing
    Strip, wash and replace bedding
    Sort floordrobe
Sort out a drawer or wardrobe
    Fill a charity bag
    Wednesday - Living Room
    Sort magazines/newspapers
    Clean behind furniture
    Dust all dusty bits

Am I really really slow at housework, or does anyone else find that the jobs take way way longer than 15 minuets between them? I was genuinely very surprised when level 1 turned into 15 mins and a bit disheartened.

You will find that, once you get into a routine, jobs are done more quickly also if the same jobs are done regularly they become less onerous. Another advantage of having a routine is that things don't get forgotten - so you know that the lightswitches get wiped every week because you are in the habit of it (- making a hash of this I think... yell if it's not making sense).

So when I 'do a room' I start just inside the door and work my way round. And I do the same every time. One thing I don't always attack routinely though is windows - they don't need to be done every week so I will do, say, all upstairs in one go - as I have the gear with me.

I also keep a bathroom cleaning sponge IN the bathroom, along with cleaning stuff - so I can do a quick S&S in there because the stuff's there. I keep a separate cloth for loo wiping ( a bit of old towel which goes into a HOT wash).

And if any of you are off to Asda check out this thread...

Mind you I started my cleaning career at about 14 when we moved to a big house and had jobs allocated - mine was the cloakroom and bathroom.

On a side note I flicked the hoover round the kitchen floor yesterday and was rather pleased to realise that all the dust bunnies were nigh on invisible - excellent choice of colour for the floor tiles :rotfl:

Don't worry they take me more than 15 mins too - I was just following Dusty's lead from last week as I got in late Sunday night and hadn't sorted the list for Monday out properly - just treat it as a level one and don't worry too much about the wording.

    Morning all

Need to climb back on the flying bandwagon this morning now the entertaining is over. Plan to do what I can downstairs today leaving upstairs for the rest of the week (it needs it more upstairs).

Kids all out for a bit today so hope to get to a few garden centres/nurseries during that time. A dry hour in the garden at some point today would be good too!

Bossymoo - you are coping so well hun x

Piggers hope babe stays put, will they be in the same hospital as DD, could be delivered on the same day.

Time to delete a few emails and then to get to it.

    Morning all!

Back to work today :( I've quite enjoyed the 'long' weekend!

Got the new bedding yesterday, all washed and on the bed last night - looks lovely!

Got all the ironing up to date too - trouble is the washing basket is nearly full again - there's only 2 of us, honest!

Will probably just get level 1 done today (like most days!) but every little helps - where has all my energy gone ha ha!

Have a good day everyone - avoid the rain!

    30 mins

    1 hour
    [STRIKE]Dust all dusty bits
Wipe skirting boards, doors and door frames[/STRIKE]
    Extras
    [STRIKE]HHC in chosen room[/STRIKE]
    HHI
    Hoover stairs

Here goes for today then, I have a feeling it's gonna be a tough one!

Update: Today hasn't been as difficult as I thought, DD is being really good and currently having a nap. Just HHI and hoovering the stairs left. I hate hoovering the stairs - bane of my life. I haven't got much ironing but am feeling kinda lazy. Think I'm gonna really push myself and get the ironing done now. Feel a bit grumpy cos I desperately needed to do a dark load of washing, so put it out thinking a few showers won't hurt and it's raining bucketloads :( Hate no longer having a TD!

    Morning all,
Had a dreadful night and am a zombie this morning thanks to the pain killers. However through it I WILL get to the gym, the library and the office to pick up some paid work.I WILL make the necessary phone calls to try to sort my son out and it is possible there will be a really BIG meeting with the PCT about his funding this afternoon which I WILL go to and try to make sense when I speak. I will try my very best to get the downstairs hoovered, if the meeting goes well I promise I will also change the bed.
Good vibes to all who need them..............
