    had a productive 40 mins

paired a load of loose socks
wm x3 about to go in x1 and x2 dry and just brought them in as it started spitting going to check the forecast before I hang more out

    cleaned
microwave and worktop where it sits
    draw unit in the kitchen
cooker inside and out and also behind it
now moving to otherside of kitchen....

weather says 40% chance of rain from 3 oclock so even tho its spitting now will hang next load out as its breezy

need to get cushions of sofa washed and dried and put back on today tho

    Morning flyers
I was up at 6 again this morning sewed some sequins on dds skirt then went back to bed for a couple of hours on my agenda for today is to square up the LR and scullery then finish my room of doom then I'm going to start on the walkin cupboard in there cause I have some storage boxes the tower type I'm going to put my cross stitching and knitting stuff in and I should find some more gibble for the car boot while I'm in there. Although I fear my car ain't big enough all ready!

Better get started HHC starting now anyone?

how do you make your macaroni cheese, its probably one of my favourite meals and although I know its a basic have never been able to master it

    thanks

also need to cut the grass today

you might be able to master this then as I make the cheese sauce in the MW and it's easy AS LONG AS YOU STIR A LOT
Boil the macaroni as per usual
make a cheese sauce - I cheat - I fling about a tablespoon of cornflour in a jug, add salt and pepper and stir in milk (about 1 pint - I no longer actually measure) so that the cornflour's mixed in then add a knob of butter/marg/stork zap for 2 mins, get out, stir, zap for 2 mins stir and repeat until it thickens up probably shortening zap times as it gets hotter. Dont be tempted to zap for longer though as cornflour sinks.
Add in grated cheese (any I have to hand that will grate!) and stir in.
Drain macaroni, put in dish, stir in cheese sauce and mix well. Add cooked, chopped gammon/bacon if using and stir in. Sprinkle with a little (to your taste) extra grated cheese, grill and serve OR allow to cool then give it 25 mins in an oven at Gas 4/180deg c.

hAVE BEEN LISTING ON FLEA BAY...

    you're welcome -
I have a fish pie recipe which is fairly similar - well the sauce is the same, bar the cheese;) - and the bay leaves, and the peppercorns
    *rubs chin*
    not THAT similar then :rotfl:

according to an ad for a certain soft cheese you can add a tin of sweetcorn

you could also add tuna instead of ham/gammon/bacon...

My macaroni cheese is always lacking. DH says that my cheese sauce tastes too floury and i have tried using ordinary flour and cornflour to no avail.

uropachild - don't use plain flour, do use cornflour - but make sure you get the sauce HOT enough to COOK the flour - I zap until it boils up in the jug...
