If it's set in the router, then it should work so I don't think it's being set properly?
You could actually override it by adding the DNS settings (8.8.8.8) into the Network settings in Windows.
If you fancy one final push...
Go to Control Panel>Network Connections and select your local network.
Click Properties, then select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Click Properties.
In Win 7, it's Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
Good luck.0 -
I'm 99% sure it isn't a DNS issue,
more likely a local routing problem.
Run a traceroute to the BBC site by opening a command prompt and type in
tracert bbc.co.uk
handy that BBC is failing too, because traceroutes won't complete to the other sites, even on good working connections.

Post Office Broadband is just BT broadband by another name, if it's working at your friends house it's unlikely to be a problem with the BT network in general, as suggested it's a local problem of some kind, are you up to date with antimalware scans? Your hosts file could have been compromised.0

The OP has three laptops, all exhibiting the same problem. Unlikely that all three have been compromised. How do I add a signature?0

I think I'll just leave everything as is for now until they inform me the system is fully functioning again. Strangely enough I can now access the BBC which I couldn't this morning and also now Amazon but Facebook images still aren't loading and National Express and Travelex remain completely unavailable.
Thank you again for everyone's help and suggestions.0 -
No-one has asked: What browser are you using..?
If it's IE7, I'd advise updating or changing it.
IE7 is now becoming more and more defunct as sites update to newer web technologies (it's actually built-in obsolescence by M$).
a whole bunch of sites that we use at work (I'm a Tech Support Technician for a large social housing provider) fail to load under IE7.Beeeeees!!0 -
Have you rebooted the router in the last few days? How do I add a signature?0

I saw that you'd swapped routers, but wondered if you'd rebooted again sinceHow do I add a signature?0
