Not sure if it's a good deal? Shall I keep it?

Hi all,

So I rang vodafone today to get a better deal on my phone as it was 50 days before my contract ended and they offered £10.50 a month Sim only which includes 300 minutes unlimited texts and 500MB of data. I double checked my usage and this suits my needs fine. Plus I don't want to pay loads just for the sake of getting a new phone.

However I understood this was a deal for an existing customer as I was keeping my contract.

Upon checking their website i've noticed that actually it's their standard deal.

I've 7 days to decide whether to keep this or not. There's other SIM only deals around that i'm going to look at and I found a really good deal for new customers on orange.

Should I accept this deal or ring up saying i'm dissapointed they've not offered me a special deal to keep me.

What's all your thoughts on this and what's everyones deals with SIM only or Vodafone?

Cheers

Maz

Not being harsh, but if you cannot work out for yourself if that is a good deal for YOU, then who else can?
As you mentioned you have no desire for the latest new handset on credit, the reduction in monthly on the sim only deals is because you are no longer paying for a handset, just airtime Ovivio or giffgaff may offer the same airtime for less ££s, but it depends how far you want to go with reducing your monthly outlay.

I can work it out I just wanted to find out other peoples opinions on it and for people to give me something to compare it to and to see if people in similar situations have been given a discount from Vodafone for staying as I thought that's what they were giving me.

Thanks for the info on giffgaff etc I forgot about those i'll have a look at those ones now. I just want the best deal I can get for the minutes I need really.

    grumbler you're amazing!!!

    I've found a fantastic deal on there...what I need is £8 a month there's less texts but I doubt I'll use more than a 1,000 texts a month lol!!

Also when using Topcashback I'll get back £30.30 so over the life of the contract 6 months i'll get £5.05 a month back effectively making my cost £2.95 a month.

Thank you so much again. I just have to be patient now and wait until next month. (As I was allowed to upgrade early with Vodafone!)
