Hi I have a phone contract with T-mobile , had it since december. It came with an Acer Liquid Express handset which developed a software fault at the end of March and was sent away by t-mobile for repair. I got a new handset (same make and model) at the end of April , it developed the same fault this Friday:mad:. Have spoken to t-mobile and they have said that it needs to be sent off for repair like the other one. My query is as I have had 2 handsets that have developed the same software issues can I insist on being given a different make and model of handset , as I have just about given up hope with the handset of choice. Many thanks in advance
Paul Walker , in my dreams;)

The slightly longer answer is no, but.... if the third handset displays the same fault then it would be 'reasonble' for you to request a replacement handset that did not have the shortcomings of the one you originally chose.

This does NOT mean a 'new' replacement, but a 'refurb' or as-new handset that you are agreeable to accept.
  • I am having a similar issue in that my galaxy s2 has been replaced twice now but the guy at c/warehouse said not easy to get handset changed to another make.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply. Not the answer I was looking for:mad::mad: but Will wait and see if the repaired / replacement phone develops the same issue when I get it and take it from there. Its so blooming annoying , bill paid on time every month but when it comes to issues with the phone they are so slow. Oh well will just wait and see what happens next.

Hope you manage to get yours sorted cheekymunkey 13.

  • if it does it three times, then the phone is not fit for purpose, so THEN and only then can you request a different phone to an equal or lesser value
