Anyone needed to use this? Does the phone have to have battery life and be switched on??
My eldest has lost/misplaced his. I was phoning it last night and it was ringing out then on to voice mail. Today it is going straight to voicemail.
He has tried the 'phone locator' which came back as 'no location available'?
Any suggestions?

He will have to recall his last movements to have an idea of where the handset may be? Could be down the side of the settee etc.0

It is outwith the house! He works late in a bar in town and travels on the night bus. He thought he left it at the bar but the staff have had a look and it is not there. He first noticed it missing when he got off the bus.
He is in work again tonight and will have a look himself and we will contact the police and the bus company lost and found. Just wondered if anyone knew how the tracker thing worked?0 -

Ideally the phone would have to be on and within network coverage, iphones don't have the greatest battery life, so it may have switched itself off by now, also I understand the device would have to have been set up in the 1st place before the loss occured.
Fingers crossed he finds the handset.0 -
The Find My Phone option is pretty useless, and if it hadn't made a data connection (anf the GPS was turned off) then it will report it cannot be found. You've not mentioned contacting the network - he needs to do this as a matter of urgency to initially suspend service. If it doesn't turn up he then needs to request it is blocked and a replacement SIM provided.0

Thank you for the replies! The phone is now blocked along with the sim card. New sim card winging its way to me! Phone reported lost to Police and Bus company although both will take a few days if it has been found and handed in! Thankfully it is insured!0

If he hasn't activated "Find My Phone" in advance, it won't work.0
