Problems with Sky Broadband - payg with mobile providers

Hi have recently moved my telephone line and broadband to another provider, i havnt had a probelm with the television or phone line but they seem to be having problems with connecting my broadband. My previous provider was great didnt have any problems but i could get broadband cheaper with sky.

The problem is at the moment i havnt got a broadband connection, and im having to use pay as you go broadband which is very expensive.

Do you know of any providers that are cheapish, and what shel i go about the problems im currently experiencing with *new provider :-(

Many thanks

A engineer visited by home and said that its a network problem, sky say their network team are currenly dealing with this and cant get me a date when the broadband with my connected.

Could you confirm who is the provider of your phone line. Is it BT, or have you moved both your calls and broadband to Sky?

who organised the call out from BT Openreach?

Finally are you on Sky Connect broadband or Unlimited LLU?

Sky have been having network problems recently you can check for your exchange here.

PS If its a line issue changing ISP won't fix it.

    Thank you for your reply.

Orginally we had a bt phone line and aol broadband connection, as sky had a better offer we have moved to them, the phone is working, the engineer has checked the exchange and even installed a new phone line but the broadband still isnt working.

The decided to have the unlimited broadband with sky.

So if you dial 17070 what do you get?

Sounds if you have a problem on the DSLAM port, Sky will have to organise a lift and shift.

Hi the line test seems to work fine... It come up with the different options.

What is a DSLAM port and do you think this will take long to sort out?

Thank you for helping me with this!

Digital service line access multiplex. If Sky confirm this to be the problem they have to arrange for the provisioning of a new port (connection) with their network people, then put an order on BT Openreach to move the physical connection in the exchange. No idea of the timescale.
