Looking for ideas

Hi all,

Our group sends children with special needs and their families away on holiday in the uk about four times a year. We are a small and relativley new group and so our funds are quite tight.

Does anyone have any ideas how I could go about asking for a discount from any of the big well known caravan holiday companys ? We do have a website that they could look at to get information about us but i'm not sure if I should write all our information in the letter instead to make it more personal.

I have tried to write a couple of draught letters but they just dont seem to look right!

Any advice would be much appreciated .

On the Small Biz & Charity Organisers Board have a look at the sticky on fundraising, raffles and generally useful sites. There is a link there to the FunderFinder software which will help you write letters like this.

And I'd say you need to put some information in the letter and refer them to the website for more information, or to ask you for it.

    Good luck!

Hi, first of all well done that sounds like a really good charity, I work as a care worker for disabled children so can understand a little how much these families would love a holiday. I am too currenlty fundraising for an orphanage in Kenya which I will be visiting with friends.

The best advice I can give you is just email lots of companys and ask what they can offer. Just write a nice email and explain who you are and what your trying to do, Maybe include a link to a website if you have one and always include your charity number. From doing this I have secured school uniforms, maths sets, calculators, and clarks shoes in only a few months!
    Good luck
