Sky or Plusnet... advice!

Hello, new to this forum and after a bit of advice.
At the moment we have broadband from Plusnet (60GB option) and home phone from BT. This comes to somewhere around £36 per month...
We've just signed up for Sky's offer, but when cancelling Plusnet they also gave a better offer than I could find online. Maybe I'll stick with them and just cancel BT
Does anyone have experience with the two companies? Would you advise to go with one over the other, regardless of price?
Plusnet work out a bit more expensive, but I have a strange baseless preference for them...
Details:
Sky: £12.25 per month for 6 months (line rental only), then £27.25 per month.
Unlimited UK calls, unlimited EU calls, unlimited broadband.
12 month contract.
Plusnet: £23.74 per month for 12 months, then £29.48 per month.
Unlimited UK calls, 300 minutes EU, 60GB broadband.
No contract, option of cheaper line rental if buying for the full year at once.
I use less than 60GB and 300 minutes anyway, so the limits don't matter. Plusnet price includes £5 for the international option, if that was left off they'd definitely be cheaper, but we often call Holland...
Any thoughts welcome
Edit: Oh and I wasn't sure whether to choose the phone or internet board, seeing as it's both... Forgive the newbie!
Another thing is that at the moment according to speed tests the broadband with Plusnet is at about 11.5Mbps. Sky give an estimate of 5.0-11.4 Mbps. On the same line, is theirs really likely to be a lot slower? I don't need blazing speeds, but I do need fairly fast and reliable (use it for work).

I'm of the view that if it ain't broke don't fix it.
I'm with Sky but get a discount on the BB and Calls as I am a TV subscriber.
I guess you could save £5 /month if you just took the evening and weekend package. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Both will have fiber (fast as in speed of light fast) cables to the exchange, and then usually copper cable from the exchange to your house (some exchanges have fiber to the cabinet near your house)
as they're both DSL they will use the same exchange, and it just depends on how many people are using that service (as you will be sharing the bandwidth at the exchange with other users)
Unless it's heavily over-utilised I'd say you'd get the same speeds with Sky as Plusnet, and Sky have always been pretty much perfect for me (with the odd 2/3 outages in the last few years)
P.S. maybe you want Plusnet because you prefer honest broadband from yorkshire? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
As weird as this sounds given my sky post, we've had their service for just over a year and until recently it's been fine. I find their staff are genuinely helpful most of the time. Have no plusnet experience though.Data protection is there for you, not for companies to hide behind0

Plusnet customer service is fine, from what I have experienced and from what I read before I moved to them. And I did my homework.0
