Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 1st June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Raining here as forecast but not sure when it started, it was due at 7 but hadn't started by 10 when I went to bed.
DW is on & washing is on the line under cover, fish fed & a cuppa made.
We are popping over to DD's with a tray of cut & come again lettuce. She spent yesterday moving the kids bedrooms around to make room for a child she is taking on long term, plus added a cot to her room for emergency baby fostering.
Bitsy, thanks, I am ok, still can't sit for long at the pc, so I always read, but don't always post.
Hubby & I both have the week off so I have got a chicken out of the freezer, the last one of buy 3 for £10 from Tesco it will do us a few meals. I had very little shopping to buy yesterday, just sugar & icing sugar from the supermarket, sausages & peppered steak from the butcher.
Right time for another cuppa.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

morning HH
chucking it down here too and has been for a good few hours.
I got soaked opening up the guinea pig cage ( have to cover them at night to prevent the fox getting to them ) they seemed oblivious to the rain as i fed them and changed their water lol
im now sat with a cuppa and the cat is competing for space on my knee with the laptop. she wont consider going out in this weather
I slept on the sofa last night as DH has a cold and his snoring is even worse  but now ive woken up with a bad back , got a hot water bottle on it right now - hoping it will improve
ive noticed the curtain rail in the dining room has pulled out of the wall - another job for DH - he will grumble about that when i tell him
chicken for tea ( half price at the SM) with roast spuds and brocoli .
not planning much today other than a general tidy up ( back permitting)
enjoy your sunday everyone xx0 -
Morning All, not raining here at moment but it has been. I am off to see if any brave souls have decided to do a car boot, local one only five minutes walk from me so worth a go. I am trying to replace a small slow cooker which I broke. Why is it that when you really want something you never seem to see it, but see loads when you dont need it.
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.Slimming World at target0 -

Morning all,
Wet and windy here today.
Wm is on and td is on with some towels in. I don't really like using td much but don't want wet towels hanging around. All of the other washing will be put on the airer.
We spent most of the day over the allotment yesterday. Achieved alot over there. We also got 7 eggs off the chickens, they have been laying for the last couple of weeks but that is the most we have had in one day.
Son and his gf got engaged yesterday. So that was nice news for a change.
Chicken for tea tonight with potatoes and veg.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Good Morning All
Still raining here and has rained all night, feel so sorry for people who have jubilee stuff going on today, its a little windy too - the worst weather.
We were planning to clear and clean our front garden but that has been put on the back burner, so will be having a home day. OH is busy clearing the washing basket so I will be busy ironing later.
Have loads of things around the house to do so think will just potter around getting them done.
Having chicken wraps for dinner.
Hope you all have a good day and if you are doing something special today that the weather is kind.x0 -
Morning all, wet here and very grey. Jack got very wet on his walk as he insisted on rolling on the grass and running through long wet grass, mad dog! We met an 11 week old husky pup, gorgeous but I don't envy the owners as they need a lot of exercising when they're older.
Plan for today is to write my reports for my class, really can't do much else because of weather so onwards and upwards as they say.
Hugs to all in need, Happy Birthday to your DGS JackieO,it is my son's birthday today as well. Congratulations to your son and his fiancee FS, nice to have a wedding to look forward to. Hope everyone has a good day, whatever they are doing.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund

Morning all
Forever saving - congrats to your son :T
Rained really hard last night and very overcast and breezy this morning. Got really cold in bed with just the summer throw so will layer another blanket on tonight.
Lovely day yesterday sitting in the sun watching the red arrows and then home for SC chilli. Nice and easy. DD1 went off for the day with friends and ended up staying over, got a call at 6 am to go pick her up as she was very hungover and feeling poorly. She's spent the last hour reaquainting herself with yesterday's evening meal! She'll learn!
No washing to do for a change and just a few bits of ironing so they can wait.
Roast chicken, veg and cauli cheese for lunch and an entire afternoon sat on my backside with my patchwork!
This morning I need to do a cupboard inventory, I had a good winter stock cupboard built up and I've been using it all up, now need to start planning the restock so I can get a few bits each week.
Hope the weather stays good for those with plans."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning all
FS - congrats to DS and his fiancee
Raining here too
Think I'm going to Cardiff again today to meet a friend for lunch but it's not confirmed yet. I'll drive this time though. Other than that I just need to make the house presentable and set up the spare room cos my friend from Camp America is coming to stay tomorrow til Friday :j
OS wise - tidy, have WM full of tea towels from the work trip away but I don't think I'll put it on today as it's so wet! dinner will be freezer meal.
Have a good day all

Good Morning all and Happy Birthday to Master miffy257 may he be as happy and excited as my DGS Henry is this morning.Well what a swizz it was raining on her coronation day and its raining again 60 odd years odd .We're nothing if not consistant in Great Britain
I have been printing off some recipes for my downstairs file to save me running up and down looking at the ones stored on my 'puter.I am making some twinks this morning and possibly a coffee cake if I have time My eldest DD is coming for her Sunday morning jug of fresh coffee. We both share a love of the best fresh stuff and its our treat on a Sunday morning to sit and eat cake and drink coffee and natter.Shame about the weather but we are a stoical lot in this country so I don't think it will stop folk from celebrating her Maj's reign.
Right I'm off to have a shower breakfast and start to bake some goodies
Have a brilliant day what ever you are doing
take care all
