UKCPS parking Fine - please help

I have been sent a fine for £100 reduced to £60 if I pay within a week because I was parked in one of their areas.

Firstly I wasn't parked there, I was in the car when their rep came over and told me I shouldnt be there. I explained I was waiting for someone, he said it's ok this time but if I do it again I will have my number plate taken and fined.

He took my number ANYWAY and I have a FINE! he told me I had a warning, but took my number and fined me anyway!

I was about to pay until my mum looked at the letter and said not to bother it was an invoice anyway.

I've looked on their site and there are lists of court procedings, are these real or fake?
should I pay or not?
will they really take me to court?
Should I speak to them and explain they had warned me and said not to do it again, which I wont?

what shall I do???

any advice appreciated.

You do not have a FINE:
    read it again !

You have an IMPERSONATION OF AUTHORITY FAKE parking fine called a parking charge notice.
Start reading the threads and search the company name on here.
The good news is " You do not have to pay it " Its a SCAM !
now get reading about the advice of ignoring them and ignoring all the silly letters pretending to be parking authority and debt collectors and solicitors .
Then the hard bit : Learning how to ignore and not bite back

The good news is that your mum is right - you don't have a fine and they can't enforce the invoice you have. Private parking companies telling the truth is even more rare than Scots wanting England to win Euro 2012!

Best thing to do is ignore. I had a local parking goon tell me that for me to be waiting my wheels had to be moving. That's how thick they are.

they are fake, completely ignore these clowns and all threat o grams you recieve from or on behalf of them,, a PARKING charge notice, which you have is merely a request for your hard earned cash, not legit, no legal back up,nout will happen,, a PENALTY charge notice ,which you dont have, is legit and only issued by police/local council/traffic warden.incidentally you have not, i repeat not been FINED, no crime or offence committed, ignore, full stop, jobs a good un innit.

Ignore them Its a scam, there charge is unenforceable and illegal.

They patrol the car park at the block of flats where my son lives, i have a stack of tickets from them.

In a month you'll get a threatogram promising all sort of dire consequences if you dont stump up £100, then a month after that another on, jacking it up to £140 or so, then a really cunning one from another of there fake companies called COURT PROCEEDINGS LTD, also designed to scare you.

Its all a load of rubbish. They cant do a thing, its all unenforceable and a scam.

Dont think anymore about it. Do not reply, do not phone, dont give them a single iota of information. And most definitely dont give them a penny.

There is a list of court cases on the UKCPS website, for sure.

This company has been fraudulently and illegally taking people to Court in recent weeks, but will soon be meeting its Waterloo in the wake of the Upper Tribunal ruling that Parking Companies have no right to do this, which has been applied recently in a case at Scun thorpe County Court.

The great majority of the cases posted on the UKCPS site were judgments by default- i.e. the defendants did not get, or did not reply to, the claim documents.

Where cases have been properly defended UKCPS loses.

However, their persistence in the light of the ruling that they have no right to lodge claims is, I think, going to cost them dear.

A dossier on their activities is being prepared for submission to the Ministry of Justice. Having the lists of claim numbers from the website has certainly helped because there were several we did not know about.

So, original poster- you have nothing to worry about. This firm, along with a couple of others foolish enough to take their invoices into Court, seem likely to do great damage to their own cause. No wonder the more intelligent firms avoided Court like the plague.

In short, do not pay, totally ignore this scam charge.

And if a poster called iamconfused comes on, totally ignore him too. He is one of aforementioned parking companies!

    Mum knows best ;)
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Thanks for your advice, I wont be giving them any money.

Also, who are the British Parking Association??? their logo is on the letter I have been sent

The trade association for the PPCs. Nothing "official," merely a veneer of respectability.
