NS&I Issue 48 Index linked Savings Certificate

I put money into an NS&I savings certificate July 2011 which offered interest index linked to RPI plus 0.5% bonus after 5 years. I can withdraw after a year. With inflation falling, does this product still make sense? Be interested in what other MoneySavers think.

as it is tax free, I believe you should hang on to it as long as possible. Assuming you were a tax payer, with RPI at 3.5% you would need to be getting about 4.4% before tax to beat it.

If you want to cash it in, do so when RPI is in the low 2%, whenever that may be

    Welcome to MSE :hello:

If you stick around for a while you'll find that the forums are divided into different areas for different subjects. This area is actually intended for questions and comments about Credit Cards. You would have been better to post in The Savings & Investments Board.
