Thoughts on sale to MoneySupermarket — downhill from here?

First off, I'm really happy for Martin Lewis, I would have done the same thing.
But, sadly, I think MSE is going to get worse from now on. The deals will be more corporate — as now they're just things that people and Martin's team find, but via MoneySupermarket, they'll be deals that companies ask MoneySupermarket to put up — so not really "hidden finds", or anything like that.
It'll become a tool for direct promotion (like an ad), rather than finding promotions.
Just my 2¢.

That is indeed confirmed in the press release that MS.com issued yesterday - http://corporate.moneysupermarket.com/mony/news/rns/rnsitem?id=20137219Combination supports and enhances MoneySupermarket.com's strategy through:
o Enhancing MoneySupermarket.com's brand and user content
o Growing MoneySupermarket.com's direct-to-site revenues and improving MoneySupermarket.com's customer experience
o Utilising MoneySupermarket.com's skills to optimise MoneySavingExpert's website and user experience<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
What martin said was BS really.
If you telling us that your site is going to be independent then thats like talktalk selling skytv etc. its just rubbish and we will all see this in the years to come.0 -
Even the initial announcement was nothing more that more "spin" - claiming that MSE was "joining" MS.com, not being sold to.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

How many threads have we had about the sale of Mse during the last couple of days. We've had hundreds of posts, is there anything new to say on the subject.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

When some company is taken over/bought out, they always claim they'll run it as it was, etc etc etc. But that doesn't last for ever. Sometime down the road things always get merged and parts closed down etc.0
