  • Another Formil and Almat fan. We use the green bio box. Both are fine with all our skin (2 adults and 3 young kids). I use 1 heaped tablespoon full in our soft scottish water and it cleans just fine for day to day stuff. For dirtier stuff like our karate gi I use either ariel stain stuff or add another tablespoon of powder.

Have had my 10K bag for 2 months now, we are a family of four, hubby is a cyclist commuting to work each day so I have all that gear to wash too, I probably do 2-3 washing loads per day, sometimes more and I still have more than a quarter of the bag left, having said that I am heavy handed on it and could probably wash with a lot less powder than I use:p
It says in the description you put it in the machine, so do you put it on top of the clothes? I'm tempted to buy 2 x 10kg bags to save on postage but feel I should try it first. Is it likely to get damp if not kept in a sealed container? Thanks in advance.

I just put mine in the drawer, I never read that bit, I might contact him and just ask him, just in case I am doing it wrong;) I have just ordered 2 bag myself to save on the postage, I would imagine it would be fine, as long as its kept dry, I keep mine in the sack but placed in a cardboard box, but might use a plastic box, just for extra safety.

    Hope that helps:)

I sent them a message this morning and you can put it in the drawer or in the machine. Also the dishwasher powder goes in the dispenser. I ordered 1 x 10kg washing powder and 1 x 10kg dishwasher powder and they charged me £7 postage :j.

I have to use non-bio, because of eczema. To save money I use own-brand, or whats on special offer.

I prefer liquid, as gives great results, and use the minimum dose, but always use approx 1/2 a cupful of washing soda every time. An excellent stain remover that makes washing detergent go further.
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!

sorry this most likely not much help - costco do thier own washing powder, a nice sturdy plastic tub of 400 washes (sorry don't know the price..maybe someone else on here can help?).

If the quality of thier other own brand products is anything to go buy then it must also be very good.
  • I just read this entire thread, only now realising its from 2012...

Well, for what its worth I use Aldis Almat and its fine. I could swear its Ariel in a different packaging, it looks and smells just like it.
  • We used to use the Kirkland one from Costco and was the most cost efficient one but I agree there is a chemical type smell to it! I now use Morrisons Prudex 90 washes for 6 quid, we love it, lovely smell and washes lovely. Not as cheap as Costco but I find the quality better.
