Try getting some soapnuts they're natural so better for your clothes and the environment and could save you money.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I use Almat Bio and it's (IMHO) the best washing powder I have used. I only use half the recommended dose unless the clothes are extremely dirty.
if, for some reason I have run out, my local corner shop does a small box of happy shopper powder for 79p and that is quite good too.0 -
I'm using Aldi's Almat at the moment which works fine on my work clothes. Usually covered in compost
smells nice as well.
Tesco's value isn't bad either but Almat is better at cleaning and smells nicer as well. Not sure which is cheaper, but far cheaper than Aerial etc0 -
I make my own laundry soap now. About a year's supply for less than two quid. I scent it with tea-tree oil to make it smell fresh but you could use anything, really. It cleans just as well as any shop-bought stuff I've ever used.0

I aim for 10p a wash powders/liquids/tabs etc. on offer.
@ the mo I am using Almat which I got with the newspaper % off Almat + £5 off my shop.
I am using M savers concentrated fabric conditioner too.0 -
I'm using Almat at the moment, not overly impressed, doesn't smell strong enough for me, but I really like the Enilightens (?) posted above. £1 a bottle with 25% free and it smells gorgeous.MSE- The Glitchhikers guide to the galaxy0

I use Asda's SP which is advertised at 5.6p a wash.
Personally, I think all this selling by 'washes' rather than price per kg is another con to cover up rising prices.
I just use a couple of tablespoons and a splosh of vinegar and it suits me fine. It can be a problem with low temperature washes (not dissolving properly and leaving marks on dark stuff) so I might give their liquid detergent a try for that which is meant to be 5.9p a wash.0
