Uppababy vista accessories

I recently ordered the uppababy vista and have been looking at some of the accessories which go with it. They seem quite expensive and I was just wondering if anyone has this system and if so have they used any non uppababy brands to go with it. For example I was looking at the carry cot stand (£100 ) and either the cup holder or the tray to put your phone and drink (cant remember the actual name for it). I've seen on a couple of US forums that some people have used other brands on their systems but I'm not sure we can get them here.
Also what kind of parasol can you use with the chasis? I know that the carrycot and the seat part come with a sun visor but I'm thinking about when we use the car seat.
Thanks
Jo

Hi Jo I have been using this pram/pushchair for almost 1 year now and absolutely love it
The branded accessories are definitely not the cheapest but are far better quality than any that I have bought to match previously owned pushchairs. I have only ever used the Uppababy items but have found that it is much cheaper to buy them from USA and have them shipped over.
I bought the laundry bag inserts for the bassinet stand and will be using it for many years to come. I am sure that it would fit a larger moses basket stand no problem we bought the Uppababy one as it seemed very solid and secure and we also have a young child who could pass for a human tornado at times! :rotfl: I also use the parent console on a daily basis and would be lost without it as my keys, phone, bank card, loose change, tissues and so on all get stashed in there on a daily basis when I walk my 3 year old son to nursery which means they are all close to hand and I don't need a bag. I have cup holders but to be honest have not used them much as they are for larger sized coffee cups and everything else just moves about endlessly in them. I never used the car seat much as we had bought a maxi cosi pebble which was a complete nightmare to attach securely and detach safely from even its base in the car however you pick up parasols in many places with a universal fitting that should do the job for you and the unbranded ones are much cheaper. One Uppababy accessory I would highly recommend you do buy though is the snug seat as it is brilliant especially if your baby sleeps as much as mine did. The footmuff is also the best that I have ever owned too. My daughter was very warm in it all through the winter even when it sub zero outside and I was freezing!

Thanks Koalamummy. We actually got the snug seat thrown in for free. We have ordered the pebble - just have to confirm the colour - did you get one of the isofix bases for it? Bit worried now as have read some reviews where people have said that they have struggled with the small buttons on the pebble to release the seat.0

I've got the uppababy vista and a maxi-cosi carrier to go with it. I didn't buy the pebble though, I went for the cabrio-fix instead. I've found no problems getting it on and off the family-fix base nor on and off the uppababy vista.
Not sure how it differs from the pebble though..."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
There are tonnes of parasols out there that attach to most pushchair frames - the only time it's a bit more annoying to find one is if you've got one with oval bars rather than round ones. Mine has an oval frame and so Boots in particular didn't stock anything that would fasten onto it - M+P do I believe.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

If you order everything online you can send it all back if it doesn't fit/doesn't seem good quality.
Why not try some of the cheaper stuff, and if you don't like the look of it, you can always get the uppababy stuff instead.
Also, have you had your baby yet/started using the pram? If not, why not wait and see what you actually do need? Sometimes we go mad and buy all the accessories even though half the time we won't use them."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Check the dates of the reviews you read as our seat and base were bought almost 15 months ago. There seemed to be a lot of problems at this time with the release mechanisms of both the seat and base. I am certain that maxi cosi will have remedied it by now though as the cost of all the replacements they were issuing would have made them fix it pretty quickly! :rotfl:fluffnutter wrote: »I've got the uppababy vista and a maxi-cosi carrier to go with it. I think the only real difference between the two is the shape of the head hugger
Only thing really worth being concerned about is that maxi cosi car seats are incredibly sweaty and it is well worth investing in the summer covers.
Thought I would let you both know that the Uppababy Vista is the best pram/pushchair that I have ever owned, and I have owned many of them despite only having 3 childrenIt will be the first one I have ever owned that I will have used from birth through to my child no longer requires it. Uppababy customer service is also fantastic

No baby here yet or pram to play with. Its ordered (not the baby the pram ; ) but we wont get it till July some time. Think I probably will wait to buy some bits until I know what I will use.
We were going towards the pebble as its meant to be approved to take on aircrafts. Mind you dont know how that works.
Thank you for all your help0 -
Maxi cosi car seats have a built-in sun shade - this has always been sufficient for us (using with an iCandy chassis) so I would hold off buying a parasol until you're certain you'll need it.
Yes the pebble is approved for aircraft use although you would need to book a seat to use it (usually at full child price, not infant price) and make sure your airline will allow it to be used (not all do). It's a bit heavier than the cabriofix.
Sunshine kids do a good buggy organiser that's a universal fit for putting your purse / phone / keys in. It's about £8 on amazon I think - I've also seen it in Tesco & boots.0 -
Hi. I have been so impressed by the UppaBaby Vista. Just need to know before I buy. Is it a great off road as they say. I need to be able to off without baby and our dogs, can you help? Any help gratefully received. Many thanks.koalamummy wrote: »Hi Jo I have been using this pram/pushchair for almost 1 year now and absolutely love it

How 'off-road' do you mean? I find it copes with rutted tracks and shortish grass, but you'd struggle pushing it through a bog."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
