My son's view in accepting two identical offers was that if he didn't get into his first choice (and couldn't sweet talk them into accepting him with lower grades than they'd asked for) he might be able to persuade his second choice to take him if he'd missed the grades he needed.
Yes, a risky strategy, but it's their decision, not yours. You can say what you like, they'll only mutter back!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I didn't have much choice when I put down my first and second choices as I was offered the same grades for all my Uni's (except the one which was higher and I didn't really want to go there anyway, so that one went out the window straight away).
I put down the better course as the first choice, and my second choice was a uni which I had been told by the admissions person that they would take me whatever grades I got.
I ended up at my first choice uni as I got the grades but some of my friends missed out on the grades but got taken anyway......
Some Uni's have a policy of not going through clearing for certain courses - they would rather take someone who had been interviewed, offered a place and missed the grades, than someone who they hadn't met. Something to bear in mind.....
As for what clothes to wear, I suggest a pair of smart black trousers and a shirt. No need for anything else. The interviewers know that these are 18 year old kids and don't have much smart clothes. The key is to be enthusiatic on the day rather than worrying about what to wear!
Hope this helps you allSealed Pot Challenge Member Number #19060
