    And be prepared for TalkTalk to pass on BT engineering charges if they worked on wiring "in the house" !!!:eek:

    However, assuming it was from the external box to your Master socket, you're not liable for any charges.
  • Hello..i have the Same Problem that the phone rings only once..i actually changed the settings on the answer machine mode to 9 rings But still cuts off after One...i would appreciate any suggestions..thanks

    Sounds like a rectified loop fault. Unplug all extensions and test from the test port. Can also be caused by damp in the socket or internal wiring, or occasionally a fault in the external wiring feeding the property especially if it's one of the old grey ones.

    Basically rule out your own equipment and if the problem persists report it. And be prepared for a charge if it has been caused by damp.
