Barclays new account system
Comments
-
Just an update, so I ditched the Barclay's Additions Active account (well stopped paying for it, I still have the account I just don't bank through it fro everyday stuff). I opened a First Direct Current account in Sept '12 and First Direct successfully switched everything for me in Oct '12.
WRT, RAC cover from Barclay's, the one time I did call when I had broken down less than 4 weeks after getting my licence they were more than useless passing me around from pillar to post claiming I wasn't registered even though I had checked all this beforehand as I had my own car on my provisional for almost 2 years!Ok, so I came here looking to find out if my existing Barclay's Additions Active account is worth it or can I get better elsewhere (e.g, First Direct; £125 cash-back, £250 overdraft, 8% saver acc., which is a + as I'm currently saving approx 1/2 my earnings a month for a 5-10% deposit for my 1st house) @ £15.00 p/m (I know!! I hear you...£15??!! !!!!!!??!!!) if you could bear with me, this fee comes with the following:
£300 Interest-Free Agreed Overdraft
Roadside cover (RAC, I think)
Annual Travel Insurance
Mobile Phone Insurance
Electrical appliance cover - if registered within 30 days(never remember to register items)
(There maybe some other stuff like Will Writing Service which I don't use)
So is this account overpriced?
Are there better deals out there?
Any advice, experiences, knowledge or information is greatly appreciated.
