HELP ME! my auctions have no bids

Hi there i listed my auctions on thursday with pics and a small description, it ends this thursday and have no bids, but have had about 6 or 7 views what am i doing wrong? ps they are for 1995 tetley teafolk items i.e the little shops and teapots etc.I listed them as a start price of 1p and postage of £1.50 (gonna lose out there as well) cause it will cost me more for packaging as well but i wanted to attract some buyers, but none. so any HELP would be VERY VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! Thanks in Advance.
edit: ps if the dont sell how do i go about getting fees back?, or will I need to pay regardless?

You could either cancel the auctions or edit the auctions to raise the starting bid and postage to an amount that won't result in you losing out.
If you go to one of your auctions (while logged in) there should be an option near the top called "revise my item".
If the items aren't that sought after, IMO, it is dangerous having such a low start price. If the right people aren't browing ebay at the right time, you won't get any bids, or will get a low bid even if the item is worth more.
As for getting more views, is the title descriptive enough? Does it contain the model name/number (if applicable), year, style, condition etc?
Gallery images might help too.0 -
Before you listed did you check completed listings to see whether these items sell?
A very quick look through completed listings shows certain items like full sets of old tea cards sell, but more modern items such as tea folk minatures and houses mostly go unsold.
However, if your item is something that has previously sold you might find it will attract bidders in the last hour or two, many bidders don't show their hands too early on in the auction and either put in a manual bid, or a snipe at the end.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. to check completed items - click on 'advanced search' on any page top right.
do a search, and remember to tick the box for completed items. this way you know:
a) whether it will sell or not - is it worth listing?
b) what price to start it at and what search/keywords etc you need to use in your listing
you will already have been charged to list the items. if they do not sell you can re-list them a something completely different (click on re-list after auction end and edit to change all details). if the second item sells you will not get charged a second listing fee (you will if you don't sell again).
good luck!0 -
hi there
have just had a look at your items (hope you don't mind) and those of other sellers.
it just seems that they don't sell so well. some sellers are selling whole sets in original boxes - they are not selling either.
always check completed listings before you list any items to see if it is worth it. also, sometimes it is better to list several items as a lot to save on listing fees and even individual paypal fees.
the more you buy and sell, the better you will get at it. think about what makes you more likely to buy a particular item. use words/descriptions to make your items 'must-haves' to your buyers! it will also get a little easier when you have built up your feedback.
good luck x0 -
Unfortunately these items just don't seem to be selling well, but if you want to make sure you cover your fees and postage if it sells, you could revise the listing and put the start price up to 99p (any more than that that will incur additional fees, and will also mean buyers are likley to be able to get the item cheaper from other sellers). You could also try to save money by using recycled packaging if possible.
If you've used a Gallery pic and/or any other listing "upgrades", those will not be refunded if you relist and sell the second time. Only the basic listing fee is refunded if a relisted item sells, and if it's left unsold twice then you're stuck with 2 sets of listing fees.0 -
Sometimes you can sell things too cheaply and this puts people off.
What have to got to lose by increasing your starting price? (Ebay fees of course but we're talking pennies...).0 -
Good luck, sometimes we all lose money selling things, but thats how you learn.Amazon Sellers Club Member Number 52
