6 week old Xbox 360 has ruined 6 games !! help please

My local game is very nice. Back in Decemeber my 360 dead and I got a new concel then that one failed so I just contacted microsoft to fix it and they send a new one out, just 2 more faults and I get a game or two out of microsoft.

Just to emphasise, it's got nothing to do with Game. See the entire thread, the xbox was bought from Comet.

I'm afraid that if you get yours fixed instead of a new replacement, you'll be doing a lot of complaining! M$ customer services are rubbish - the reconditioned units they send out are rubbish, so keep badgering Comet because your within your rights whatever their "policy" is.

I had 3 reconditioned consoles sent to me by M$ none of which lasted more that a week or two. One of them wouldn't even turn on once I'd taken it out of the box! I took some consumer advice, and found that it was the retailers issue. Approached them and got a brand new console - no probs since

Wrote a letter of complaint to M$ - no reply...

You seem to be having trouble with your "S" key.

??? The PS3 isn't even out here yet. And what do you mean "outdated"? If you mean in terms of technology, then just look at the Wii which is less powerful than both, but selling better than them. The 360 is a mature console at the moment, with the biggest selection of games for it.

The reason for the 360 games on the PC is part of Microsoft's gaming strategy.. In todays world some parents might be worried about giving thier children a PC in thier rooms. Now people can buy thier children an XBOX 360 and they can play with thier mates who are using thier PC's on XBOX live. It also will increase the whole XBOX Live (or Microsoft Live when the PC part starts). Imagine now being able to buy games for your Vista PC and play with people all over the world using thier XBOX 360 or PC,s.

As for the outdated all ready... I think you are getting this confused with 1 year old. It is hardly outdated and the PS3 is still to establish itself. Just because something is newer does not make it better.

And as for the original topic.. There have been threads on here before highlighting the problems with the 360 and even an updated statement from Microsoft with guidelines on how to use your 360 to stop it damaging disks.

I know exactly what you mean!

However, when the problem involves my child, I seem to be able to fight my corner, on behalf of my son.
Perhaps you could take your son into Comet with you, let him do the talking, and then, depending on how the conversation goes, step in & back him up?

And Japan is never a good place to compare sales when it comes to a japaneese product they ALWAYS buy their own stuff over imports.

Making a comment about you should have bought a PS3 is stupid, the thing isnt even released yet, I have played on ian import and they are good but not everyone is prepared to buy an import especailly when they are so expensive. I know you get bluray but its a games machine when it boils down to it, If I wanted a bluray player I would buy one.

Personally I have a 360 I have always had Sony kit in the past and always will the stuff is decent. the huge price of a PS3 and the unknown constantly changeing release date has been its downfall in the UK, They should sell it for a more reasonable price I belive the 360 is over priced myself but I got it for nowt courtsey of Tesco. I have always been one of those that goes out and buys the new console as soon as possible the house is like a branch of Dixons with all the stuff in here PSP's, NDS's, Wii, Game cube, 360 PS2's I won't even go in to the retirement home in the attic it goes back to 1983 our old speccy 48K.

Will I buy a PS3? proberbly, have you seen the stunning looks of the games? I won't be buying it just yet I will wait untill gran turismo HD comes out or maybe GTA4

I've just spotted this thread while searching for something. If the issue over the discs has not been resolved you might find they can be repaired.
My son knocked his xbox 360 over twice and it left a circular mark on discs - I had them repaired for £2 each at local video store and they work 100% now.
