Quick backstory: Broke up with my ex girlfriend 4 months, since then been harassed and stalked by her police are involved. With this matter i got a new number, unfortunately the ex got hold of it through a mutual friend who at the time was unaware of the issues. Harassment continue and 2 days ago the police again advised me to get a new number.
So Orange issued me with a new number yesterday, at this moment in time the only people who know my number are me, my mum, my sister and my best friend who has also recently got a new number.
The calls and texts and started again tonight from her. She is claiming that Orange have given her the number and at this moment they are the only people that could of given her the number. Is this a breach of contract by orange?

A breach of data protection certainly. BUT does she know enough to pass the security check to get access to the acc?
If she does (and did) then its a fraud case and you need to get on to Orange and get them to beef up your acc info and place at least 2 new passwords on the it (if they tell you that you can't have 2 passwords find someone who knows how to use the system!)...
And change the number again.0 -
Unfortunately, you need proof that they did. She would need to know your number (contract or phone) and pass security checks with a good reason. You cannot assume that they did, because the only people you told wouldn't disclose it.0

What to do, right, is get a hold of 3 free sims. On the Orange network obv. Then give the number for one sim to each of the three people (yer mum, sis and mate). Swap the sims around every few hours. If you get any texts/calls to that number you know who to blame for leaking the info0

1 As per Jon^
2 A breach of Data Protection is a breach of contract, I'd be writing to Orange at their Registered Office for the attention of their Legal Department.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
May be your mum, sister or a friend either passed the number or she got the number through someone. The post 5 is correct, find out first where the problem is before taking the action vs orange0
