Not sure this is the best board, but I've got an 8910i and the screen is broke, NOT the LCD one but the plastic oen in front of that. Carphonewarehouse have said they will charge £30 to fix it but does anyone know of any cheaper options? I'm due an upgrade soon and will probably sell this on eBay so wanted to get it sorted and make it more 'sellable'!
Thanks
Thanks
2p off is still 2p off!

the plastic lens on these is part of the housing, and ive not seen the lens sold seperate anywhere.
the cheapest housings ive seen for these are about £70 (expensive as they are titanium) and are not easy to fit either.
there maybe a chance that it is the same size as another nokia one though? try 8210/8310/3310 type? might be able to glue it in place but you will still have to strip phone down as it fits on the inside.
beware of snapping ribbon cable when taking apart0 -
i had my 8850 fixed for £30 at CPW. not the screen but a faulty microphone.0

an 8850 mic is about £5 to buy - the rest must have been labour charger for fitting
8850 is quite easy to strip
was it under warrenty at the time (18 months for nokia), if so it should have been a free repair0 -
Hi there,
In all fairness £30 isn't too bad - try and blag it further when sending it in to CPW by saying it has software glitches and get them to re-flash the phone as well - does help alot when flogging off the phone eventually on eBay.
drahcir is spot on with the comment about the plastic part - you will probably be paying out more just for the plastic but from a seller on eBay.
HTH.
