I think it's great so much money is going to charity but part of me is cautious about this, I mean no matter what clause is put in the contract at the end of the day moneysupermarket is a business and it's there to make money so I wonder how long they will wait before they get our email addresses and start to bombard us with products.
Sorry but I am a skeptical one0 -
We will see..I hear Martin is staying on as chief editor, so don't think things will change in the immediate future- he has done well with this website and am sure has put a lot of hard work into it too, so why not get rewarded? Glad some of it is going to charity too!£21k of debt left to go and got until 2014 to clear it! :eek:CC: £14,000Loan: £1,100Loan: £6,1000

:T I agree. None of us post anything that could identify us in the RW it's just email address's like any other forum.DEBT FREE AND PROUD'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt'0 -
I'm delighted for Martin. Also he has no need to donate 10 million to charity so it says a lot for the type of man he is that he is doing this. Good on him I say. I get bombarded with 'stuff' anyway so I'm not overly bothered re my e-mail address and I trust what Martin says.
So all I want to say is good on you Martin and all the best to you and your wife ( and the bump) for the future. Many thanks as you and this forum have saved me thousands.
Now if you could just see your way to giving me 14k from the charity fund then I will love you forever :rotfl:5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -

My attitude is just to applaud Martin for what he's done over the past ten years.0 -
do MSE users get shares, or a payoff too then?
would be nice to have at least given the chance to buy some..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
Well done Martin! Good luck to him, he's built it up through hard work.
It's great he's giving a good share to worth causes as well.0 -

No one in debt has money to buy shares even if?0 -
Looks like a good deal to me and nothing should change too much.
I don't pay to use the site, I am just a user so don't expect a say on how it is run or who owns it.
Am I envious of Martin's success? Certainly. Will I lose sleep over it? No. Am I grateful the site exists? You bet.Proud to have dealt with my debts, became debt free on 03/11/2011. Repaid £54,723.41 LBM May 2006.
