Fry onion and garlic and a rasher of bacon in butter, add cooked potatoes, carrots, peas and cabbage then when cooked add cubed corned beef. Season and add worcestershire sauce. I didnt think anyone would eat it but they scraped their plates!Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

Hello All,
Went shopping yesterday but only cause we had to go to the shopping centre (meadowhall) and so we called at poundland, aldi and pet store. Spent £13.54 which i think is ok seen as it's been a week since we last went to supermarket. Called at Mr T's today but no spend for us as shopping was for my mum. Have been making her HM soup for a while now and i think she has got addicted;) .So I got her stocked up with basics, so she can have a go herself.
Going to mr Ts tomorrow morning after I have dropped other half off at work. That way the shops wont be too busy so I wont get stressed.
Am taking a list and am going try my best to stick to it. unless of course i see any unmissable offers.;)'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle'0 -
Hello everybody
Can I play too? I've badly fallen off the OS wagon over the last few months and need to get back on track.
We're two adults and two cats all the time, plus two greedy and fussy part-time teenagers, so I'll say £200.
I really need some encouragement!

Ok, i have to bite the bullet and do my first grocery challenge.
I have £17 per week ( 4 weeks exactly in Feb so £68 to spend on groceries for 2 adults:eek: DD will buy the toiletries, but i have to buy cleaning stuff.
I have one small advantage in that DD works for a local supermarket (unfortunatly its an upmarket one) and i get a 15% discount when i shop there.
As the worlds worst cook, this should be interesting. Lets hope its not beans on toast for a month.
Will start on 1st and go through to the 29th (at least its a short month):rolleyes:The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
Hi all
LIL-me-could you put me down for a monthly budget of £200.00 please0 -
Hi everyone
I would love to join the Feb grocery challenge as we never stick to a budget for our food/toiletries and are currently spending around £600 a month.
I would be ever so grateful if anyone could give me any tips on cost cutting, I need to make a huge effort as I can't believe we spend so much as there are only 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 cat. Need to pay my overdraft off and save some for holidays so hopefully I can do this if I cut down on food shop.
Will have to work out how to add signature so I can keep you all posted with my progress. Any ideas of what a realistic budget would be? What about half - £300? Not done this before so just guessing at what we would be able to exist on!!
Thanks guys, any advice greatly appreciated to a new joiner0 -

Not quite finished January's challenge yet, but hoping to be 57p underspent! Please put me down for £200 for February. 2 adults and 2 children. Will be tough as we don't have as much in the cupboard as we did at the start of January but we are going to give it a go. Good luck everyone:beer:0
