OS Daily Friday 1st June

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 1st June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the
Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning :hello:

Hi chums ,warm muggy night so I'm up with the larks today.plus its my DGS Mikey's eighth birthday so I have to be on the doorstep with his pressies as early as I can get there as I promised him I'd be there before 8.00.a.m.
He can't wait to show me all of his bits as he is still young enough to be excited about a birthday Not sure what dinner will be tonight as in his house his Mum lets them choose dinner on their birthdays .They don't normally have junk food but if a MccyDs is his choice then thats what we'll have (but she tries to steer him onto something else though )The sun is up and shining so I'm going to put the sheets and covers on to wash as rain is forecast for Sunday.Hope everyone has a good day and all the ones with kids parties at school get to have some fun as well.

take care all
JackieO

Morning Jackie and all to follow.

Hope young Mikey had a great day x

Off to work today, but last day before a lovely long weekend, :j, not sure whats for dinner, but it may be fish and salad.

Looks like another nice day, long may it continue, need to do a wash tonight, and get it on the line.

Where is the best place to buy bread flour and yeast? I wanted to get some over the weekend, to try out the new breadmaker.

    Have lovely days all xx

    Morning everyone.
Dull and cloudy here. Popping to B and Q this morning and need to get a birthday card for a friend. Been awake since 5.20am so everything feels like a hard slog today, even walking the dog wasn't as enjoyable :o

Not sure what's for tea, might do something with sausage.

Redruby what sort of BM is it? I buy my strong white bread flour from Lidl as its the cheapest I've found and the yeast I just buy from Sansburys.

JackieO Happy birthday to Mikey, hope he enjoys his presents x

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

    Morning everyone

JO- Hope Mikey enjoys his birthday x

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Dull and overcast here this morning, temperature dropped dramatically too. DH having a day off, so we can take caravan to the site and then I'll go back in my car with the boys once they come out of school.

Dinner last night was pie, chips and beans/veg for the menfolk, I had mushroom omlette and salad, ice cream for dessert. Managed to get all the dry washing ironed, packed for going away, did the food shopping. Had a long chat with the Head of Maths at DS1's school and then had to go in for a meeting, but think we've reached a solution for the moment - we'll have to wait and see. Also stopped off at B&Q to buy more canes for my tomato and runner bean plants, so will do that today too.

Have a great Friday and Bank Holiday weekend, everyone, enjoy x

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

    Good morning all,

İts now 8am and Jackie should be at Mickey's--Happy Birthday young chap!-- i remember being excited about my birthday well into senior school!
First job of the day is being done at this moment- İ am waiting for the new mattress. DD has finished the first year of high school and has passed sufficient subjects to progress to the 'real meat'. DH and DD go up to the school today to select her options for next year. She will go for languages with English as her major!
İ am not working today but i will go to our school to get my lunch.
İt looks like we have seen the last of the spring showers and summer has finally arrived with the temperatures set to rise to the mid 30s by next week.
Tomorrow is a normal working day with 8 hours of lessons so i have lots of prep to do between now and then.
This is the 7th day of not drinking and i have lost 1,1 kgs in weight.

    Wishes to everyone!
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.

Morning all, dull but dry here so at least Jack and I enjoyed our walk. Today's plan is to do our big monthly shop, we are going to try Mr T's this time to see if it's cheaper. Not so keen but we need to go to some other shops near there so it makes sense. Have to a freezer audit in a minute and make a meal plan. Hugs to all in need, keep up the good work de1amo and Happy Birthday to Mikey JackieO. Nice to see you posting Pen Pin and hope the new treatment goes well. Hope you are OK Lou and that your bump is cooking nicely. Have a good day all.:)

    Morning All
Have had a nightmare week:eek: Fell on Monday evening, DD and DGD came round Tues, still shaken up. Weds, DD had to go to London about DGD's passport, she forgot the birth certificate, and they wouldn't accept a fax! I had to catch a train to London, two and a half hours, cab to Victoria, to find DD in floods of tears. Sorted her out, took her for food, then came home, didn't get back till ot out8.30pm. Went to have a shower, and fell as I got out:eek: Cracked my head and cut it on thye wall:o
Then Thurs had to have DGD while DD went BACK to passport office to collect said passport. They are away next Saturday:eek:
I think she is suffering from Post natal depression, she's so unorganised and dissolving into tears all the time. Have insisted that she goes to the docs next week.

Getting my nails done this morning. Hope nothing else goes wrong!:rotfl:
Happy Birthday to Mikey, hope it's good!

    Have a good day all!

    Morning everyone,

Hilstep what a terrible week, hope things improve rapidly for you.

JackieO happy birthday to Mikey, he will love his present!

Hugs to Molly, LW and Tru.

Dundeedoll hope that you enjoyed Nottingham, I wonder if we passed in the street!

Last day at work before half term and I am so ready for it, packing is nearly finished for Devon.
I love the sea so much which is strange as I was brought up in the West Midlands and now live in the East Midlands which is about as far from the sea as you can get.
I am so jealous of all of you that live on the coast.

Speech went well yesterday thank you Bitsy and I managed to get through it before crying!! I shall really miss my tutor group.

Have a lovely day everyone and a wonderful half term.:)
