Are 02 Pay as you go phones unlocked?

Hi Guys, thinking of getting a Samsung Tocco Icon phone on 02.
Am i right in thinking that my T-Mobile sim will work in it,....as i know a few years back 02 phones were unlocked.
Not sure if they still are though (?)

Nope. Depends on the distributor and where you buy it. CW do not supply PAYG handsets locked, but O2 retail certainly do. (I've had 3 from them that were).0

From my experience in distribution, some buy SIM Free stock to supply with O2 contracts (whether PAYG or PAYM), others use O2 stock. If the handset itself is O2 branded (ie it has O2 on it somewhere), it's probably locked. If it doesn't have any network branding, you may be in luck.0

Quick Update:
Got it from Isme (Marshall Ward) and it was locked.
Didn't even have any headphones in the box either!
