They all have different packages. Can you get a good reception on all networks where you live?

If you get her a touch phone I imagine she'll want mobile internet access with it?

Why PAYG and not a contract? Three are offering £100 cash back through Topcashback for taking their £10-a-month SIM only 12-month contract (300 minutes, 3000 texts, 1GB data a month).

Well something like a Samsung Galaxy mini or at a stretch a Nokia lumia 710 for £99 right now.

GiffGaff (Runs off O2 network) is payg and if you buy the goodybag you get unlimited internet, unlimited texts and 250 minutes for 30 days.

Are you sure you want an uncapped contract with unlimited credit for a 11y.o.?

It is SIM only (£20 for the year after cashback, so a bargain). You could then buy a phone to go with it, starting from £60. If you give me a budget, I will suggest a phone.

about £80 for the phone, with that sim card, once she reaches her limit, does that mean she can make no extra calls?

I doubt she would go over any of that but you can get Three to set the credit limit to 0 so it cannot go over the standard price but beware 3 coverage is the worst in the UK and if its for the child to use in school as well, there is a good chance the walls are really thick and 3s 2100mhz signal will not penetrate the building very well.

    Three.co.uk/coverage check the coverage
