Contract ends tonight

Hi all, I wonder if someone can help with my query.

My contract with TMobile ends tonight. They did ring me about a month ago with another offer, but I said I would think about it and they agreed to call me back in a few days.

They haven't called me back since, and I'm not sure what happens next! Will they just carry on the same contract until I cancel? Or cancel it themselves?

It will just carry on till you cancel it or upgrade.

...and you have to give at least 30 days notice to cancel it.

So the 'contract ends tonight' is a misnomer. It only ends when you cancel it all that ended was your minimum term of service. When they called you that was he time to say you would be leaving, and required the cancellation - this would give them the 30 days notice period.

If you are happy with T-Mobile, call back and say you want to leave due to price and see if they offer you an acceptable deal.

If not, look elsewhere. Three are giving £100 cash back through Topcashback if you take their £10-a-month SIM only deal for example.

Thanks all. OH is stressing and convinced my phone is now cut off, despite me being able to use it for all the things I did before.

I think the phrase"my contract ends tonight", is a bit of a confusing (and slightly inaccurate) way to put it...but understandable.

Normally (I say normally, as I don't know your contract situation), but normally, after 12, 18 or 24 months, your minimum term obligation ends. i.e. before that time you are not able to terminate your contract without penalty, but after tonight when this minimum term obligation finishes, you are free to terminate your contract (with the required 30 days notice) without incurring any terminatin fees.

Of course, if you had realised this, you could have actually given your 30 days notice 30 days ago, so that your contract itself did in fact end tonight, but your contract will actually run until you decided to actually terminate it with TMobile, but from tomorrow you will be in the (enviable) position of not being tied to this contract, and can leave at any time.

Hurry, the £100 cash back offer ends today! If you miss it, check future offers on Topcashback and Quidco. They usually offer about £80 for the £12-a-month plan.
