We are due to move in about a month's time. We have an integrated dishwasher which has conveniently just stopped working. We really don't want to fork out for a new one as we will need to buy a new one for our new house. However we have said the dishwasher is included in the sale. What should we do? Grrrrrrr:mad:

Tell purchaser of house & see what they say or get it fixed.ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0

Keep quiet.
Don't tell them you are taking all the light fittings either.
And if you're selling an integral washing machine, why not take it with you - they won't notice and if they do you can just deny all knowledge..What should we do?0 -
You can see your options;
Put a new one in at your expense
Give the buyers the money to buy their own
Don't do anything and wait for the buyers to complain when they don't have the working dishwasher you said was included.0 -

Check with your buyers what they want you to do. We're not big fans of integrated dishwashers so would probably remove it anyway and bring our own.Debt at LBM (March 2006): £30,000 :eek:

I was in a similar situation when I sold my last house, only appliance wasn't integrated. I told buyers I'd leave my washer drier for them then about 3 weeks before we exchanged, the machine packed up. I had to explain to buyers and tell them I was no longer able to include the machine as agreed. They were fine and understanding about it.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Might not actually cost that much to get it repaired, have you even got some quotes?0
-
Check out repair costs and then talk to the buyer.0

Depends...moral or legal decision.
Morally you should repair or at least notify the purchaser.
Legally I am not sure you are require to do anything. You will be leaving it and as far as I am aware the only item that comes with any type of warranty in a house sale is the boiler. This I believe has to last for first 72hrs abd after that it;s not your problem.
Maybe somebody else could confirm.
Having said that, it is probably best to keep your relationship on a good note. Maybe an important letter or call comes in to your old address and the new owners may not be so keen to realy this to you after the dishwasher incident.0
