Don t know if anyone can help. We stored our touring caravan at a storage place in Somerset. We paid monthly last year but this year we had the money so we paid the full amount, almost £400 in April. We had the caravan out for a 3 week holiday and then put it back in storage then approx 3 weeks later we have had to sell the caravan due to unforseen circumstances. We have been in touch with the storage people and they say that because it says on the terms and conditions that no refunds are given that they are not willing to give us any money back.!!!. Is this ok? Is there anything we can do to try and recover some money?

I thik you'll probably be better off asking on the 'consumer rights' board here

You could perhaps look at selling the year's storage to recoup some of the money.0

I'll move it for you.
MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
I wouldn't be holding my breath - seeing if you can sell the storage space is probably your best bet.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Legally a service is very little different to a physical item. Unless a contract is broken or service not supplied it's down to the T&C of the contract.
You have no legal right to a refund unless the above points come into force (Service not supplied, and you choosing not to use the service are two different things)
Sorry, but try selling the spot if the owners of the storage space are ok with this.0 -
If the storage service provider could resell the space, you could offer it back to them at 50%. Might mean you get something back if 1) the place is full and 2) they want to make another full-price sale plus the remaining 50%0

Thankyou all for your responses. Very helpful.0

If they don't refund, I would assume that the storage space will be empty for the remainder of the year. After all they can't put anything in there whilst you are renting it.....can they......One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0
