Mothers Day Ideas

May-B

Help! I am very broke and its Mothering Sunday next week. I am hoping that someone might have some spend thrifty ideas for me (I don't like to use the word cheap!) - I would like to get my long suffering Mother a present. The complications are that it has to fit in the post as the family live far away. My Mum doesn't have any useful hobbies, is usually on a diet (therefore chocs are a no) and I buy her smellies for every occasion - so any deviation from this would be good. She wouldn't expect me to spend any more that £10-£15 as I'm broke - but I would like to get her something nice - any ideas??!
Thank you!
Thank you!

My son is away from home and for me it really makes my Mothers day if he sends me a card (not an expensive one but from somewhere like the Card Factory). It's what he writes inside that means the most. I would not appreciate a £25 bunch of flowers delivered by Interflora that someone else has chosen. A phone call in the morning from him would top my list. I appreciate the simple things in life and wouldn't want either of my sons to waste their money on expensive things especially as I have introduced them both to MSE. Take it from me May-B, your Mum will be thrilled to hear from you on Mothers Day but DON'T forget to ring her. Pop her a card in the post and I'm sure she'll be happy.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

Some people are managing to get the Boots No.7 wrap (worth £35) with 2 bottles of sun cream (on BOGOF) so it costs £7.50.
The wrap contains 7 small cosmetic items and you can use it to store jewelry when travelling.
If you think you are going to be using sun cream this year then it's worth a go (although I can't guarantee it works on all tills).0 -
Is she into books, music or dvds? All of those travel well and can be bought for sub £15

I agree with you entirely.

Hi,
Does your Mum drink tea?
As most of us do!
This company
http://www.ringtonsstores.co.uk/
Sell a selection box of teas.
Basically there are 6 individual boxes with 8 tea bags in them, all beautifually packaged, and they cost £7.95. Excellent quality and superb taste.
You can either have a classic tea selection, includes englsih breakfast, darjeeling, earl grey or a exotic selection with caffeine free teas as well as something a bit different like green tea with mint, and white tea with raspberry.
Just an idea, you may have one of the stores near you if you're anywhere near Canterbury, Cambridge or Brighton.

This may not be what you are looking for but have you considered writing her a letter or poem. For christmas my daughter had no idea what to buy her father so instead she wrote him a beautiful letter saying all the reasons why she loved him and how much she appreciates all he does. He says it is the best present he has ever recieved.
Its costs nothing but time, its easy to post and it is a unique priceless gift.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

I'm broke too and was shocked at the price of cards in smiths, I'm going to make one instead, bought a few card bits, might cost me slightly more but now I've got the bits to make more cards for another time.

If you order eg a book or dvd from amazon they will do free delivery for over £15 and you can have it delivered to her directly so saving yourself the postage and hassle.0
