Orange price rise grumble

I know that a lot has been said on this forum about phone companies raising prices mid way through contract due to inflation I just got a letter from orange telling me mine is about to go up BUT.....

The thing that's really annoying me is that they are still offering the deal I originally had, at the same price!
Does this mean they are selling the contract knowing full well they will put up the prices in a few weeks?

Unless it is a sim-only contract, what you say is very arguable. You know well that handsets get cheaper with time and some get cheaper very fast.
That said, I agree that it is unfair to increase the monthly repayments for the handset 'loan' along with the airtime cost.

I only signed up in January and it's a 2 year deal. A 4S for £59.99 and£30 per month. The 4S hasn't got any cheaper!!

Still available now, my point is are they selling it knowing it will go up in July?

If you signed up in January the price rises had been announced and hence I would expect that any price would already include the price rise or that they would have to make you aware that the price was definitely going to increase.
