e2save insurance (scam?)
Just got a new phone from e2save... (who give you 3 months free insurance which they say can be cancelled afterwards)
And just now I got a phone call from a private number. Sounded like a call centre in the background.
He was basically telling me he was phoning on behalf of O2 about my new phone, and was offering me cheaper insurance (£75 rather than £120 or so.) Oddly, he then proceeded to take my name, address, and debit cards details. I stopped short of giving him my debit card number though - that was the point I got suspicious.
I then asked him exactly what this was for, and reiterated my plan to cancel the insurance after the 3 months. He told me this was impossible and e2save actually shouldnt have said that, and it really meant I could cancel my contract after 3 months. I corrected him, but he insisted and started getting a bit angry with me... so I asked for a better explanation and still came away not quite understanding.
I said I'd phone e2save to check at which point he told me 'Ok, I'll phone you again before Friday' and hung up.
What's going on? A scam, or something else?

Though I got my contract from OSPS, they have the same type of offer. I was able to cancel my insurance with no problems just before the three months was up.
I would think that the salesperson from O2 was lying to you, much along the lines of the electricity misselling a few years ago.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Wouldn't be surprised he wasn't actually from O2.0
